For experienced parents or those dealing with a newborn for the first time, a baby who is crying in a wailing, inconsolable way, is really upsetting.  You have checked their diaper and fed them, and they are still crying hard.  What to do?  The video you are about to watch below, offers a miracle method, that will comfort the baby instantly!

Dr. Robert Hamilton, a pediatrician, has developed a technique of holding, that is best used on babies from 0 to 3 months.  Having practiced pediatrics for over 30 years, Dr. Hamilton frequently has to deal with crying babies who are in a strange place, and often are getting their first inoculations.

Watch as he demonstrates this holding position, that he illustrates on several crying babies.  He holds the baby in a 45 degree angle (protecting the neck), and secures their arms on their chest with his hand.  With his other hand under the baby’s bottom, he shows different gentle rocking motions which instantly soothes the child.

The parents cannot believe their eyes or ears, for that matter!  He demonstrates the technique several times, so that you will be able to follow it easily.  What a lovely doctor he is; he doesn’t say exactly why this works but I have a theory…I think the position mimics the baby’s experience in the womb.

Have you tried this technique? Let us know if it works for you!

THIS Is The Actual Reason Why There Are Folds On A Baby’s Onesie. I Wish I Knew This Earlier.

There are many ups and downs to parenthood and changing a baby’s dirty diaper most definitely falls in the down category.  The stinky, messy, gross task is inevitable and numerous daily changes are necessary if you want a clean comfortable baby and household.  Sometimes a baby happens to make quite a disaster in their nappy that puts mom or dad in the delicate position of trying to figure out how to best get their clothes off without transferring the mess all over their little one.  There is a way to properly remove a onesie without smearing poop on the child and this video on the YouTube channel Tiaras & Prozac shows how.

First off, anyone familiar with a onesie has probably pondered what those envelope fold-like things are on the shoulders of it.  Most assume they are put there to make it easier to take it off over the baby’s head, but this is not the case.  Instead, the folds are there so you can pull the onesie down off the baby and thus avoid making a big mess in the event of a diaper fail.

To perform the changing trick simply roll the top of the onesie down off the shoulders, gently getting one arm through and then the other.  After that it should easily roll down and slide off the baby.  This way is the best method of keeping a baby clean while changing and ensuring that the mess doesn’t spread all over the place.

Hopefully this “mom hack” will make life just a little easier and cut down on all the baths that result from diaper changing fails.  It is really easy to do and will save you lots of time and energy, leaving you with more of the same to put towards being an awesome parent!

This Girl’s Tattoo Says ‘I’m Fine’ But When She Reveals The Secret Message She Has Everyone Talking!

Tattoos have become an acceptable mode of self-expression in recent years, although for a long time they were stigmatized; they were associated with the more marginalized people in society who struggled to fit in, and often ended up in trouble with the law.

Not only have tattoos come a long way in being seen as an artistic mode of expressing oneself, but they have recently taken on a very different and important role. There is a touch of irony here, in that the once stigmatized TATTOO is being utilized to raise awareness about mental illness; still so stigmatized in our society.

Bekah is a college student who was suffering from depression, as so many people do, without knowing how to ask for help. Depression is an insidious illness that leaves people feeling hopeless and alone. Burdened with such darkness, many people who suffer do not even know how to put words to what they are going through.

Bekah wanted to get a tattoo that had some meaning; in the following video you will hear the story of her journey towards mental health. The tattoo that she got opened the door for a dialogue that would help Bekah and others in their attempt to get help.

Most people, when asked how they are doing, reflexively answer “I’m fine”. “I’m Fine” is Bekah’s tattoo, when seen from one perspective. However, you will see it’s secret meaning when it is viewed upside down.

Let us know your feelings about her story and what she is doing to help raise awareness about the importance of letting others in, when you are dealing with depression, anxiety or any form of isolating mental illness.
