Keanu Reaves Hugs Girl Who Is About To Die
images via: youtube.com
Life is typically filled with school, sports, friends, and lots of fun activities when you’re young. Such was the case for twelve year old Kim Carter, yet all that changed when she suddenly became very tired and achy all the time. Her parents, Anabelle and Mark, noticed the shift in their daughter and while the initially believed her complaints were simply the normal aches and pains that come with growing up, she didn’t seem to be growing out of it. Kim’s condition only seemed to worsen and so her parents quickly stepped in and took her to the doctor to try and figure out what was going on.
With no clear explanation, a battery of tests was ordered and what they revealed was a life changing diagnosis. The source of her aching bones and constant fatigue was a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. Faced with this terrible news, Kim remained positive and vowed to fight as best she could against the deadly condition. She was determined to do whatever it took to get better and with her parents at her side she endured months of seemingly unending hospital stays and rounds of chemotherapy.
While the treatment and chemo drained her remaining energy, Kim never lost her love of life, hopes, or dreams. She found strength in her family and loved ones, the doctors and nurses, the community who all came together to support her, and in Keanu Reeves. Kim had always loved his movies, but what drew her to him after her diagnosis was his overall demeanor in life. His low key kindness, quiet confidence, and clear respect for others reached her in a way that no one else could. She spent hours watching his movies and interviews to help pass the long hospital stays. While they were definitely entertaining, she watched them more so for a different reason; the hope they inspired. Kim saw the underlying messages of perseverance and fighting for what was right and applied it to her own battle with leukemia.
Keanu’s background and experiences also made Kim feel connected to him, as his life story is one of incredible highs and lows. He has lost loved ones including a stillborn daughter, young ex-girlfriend, and his sister who passed away from leukemia. Throughout these dark times he never gave up or became bitter with life, he only doubled down and fought harder. He did whatever he could to help his sister fight cancer, selling his house to be near her and over the years he has donated millions of dollars to help fight cancer. He’s done all this quietly, not for publicity or headlines, but out of his sheer desire to help others and help find a cure.
It was Keanu’s unique perspective and the wisdom he imparted from his experiences with grief, love, and loss that drew Kim to see herself in him. She too was a fighter who would not give up hope and even as her life and health changed for the worse, she remained positive. When her cancer spread and condition became terminal, rather than cry or become resigned to her fate, she became braver and tried her best to comfort her devastated parents.
When Kim told her parents that her last wish was to meet Keanu Reeves, her mother put up a post on social media about her daughter’s fight and desire to meet the actor in hopes it would somehow reach him. Her story spread quickly and caught his publicist’s attention. She ended up sending him the link and soon after Keanu was reading Kim’s story. When he was done, he replied that he wanted to meet Kim and word soon reached her that her hero was coming to visit.
On the day she was set to meet Keanu, Kim was noticeably brighter and visibly excited. He arrived alone and was shown to Kim’s room by a nurse. As soon as she saw him come through the door, tears of joy ran down her face and she whispered, “you came.” He took her hand gently and asked how she felt, then she began to tell him about how she’d watched all his movies and interviews countless times because they helped her through the darkness. Visibly moved, Keanu told her she was a fighter and soon after Kim was telling him stories and all about her hopes and dreams.
At one point Keanu asked Kim what her favorite movie of his was and she told him it was The Matrix. She explained it was because Neo never gave up, even when everything was against him. Keanu softly replied, “You know, the thing about Neo is that he doesn’t just fight for himself, he fights for the people he loves, he finds his strength in that, and I can see that in you Kim.” Their conversation turned much deeper at that point, they spoke about life and death, and it was clear to see the connection they shared.
When it was time for Keanu to leave, he gently hugged Kim and whispered something in her ear that only she could hear. She smiled and they exchanged a final knowing look before he left. Once he was gone, Kim sat with her mother in a quiet, calm silence. Her last wish had been fulfilled and her mother later mused that he’d left her in peace with the ability to finally be able to let go. While Keanu has not spoken publicly about Kim, those closest to him said they noticed a change in him after the visit and that he’d expressed how much she meant to him.

It is wonderful to have our homes smell good, and scented candles became very popular over the last decade. That is, until it was discovered that many of these candles and scented sprays contain really dangerous chemicals, that can cause permanent lung damage.
I, myself, have stopped using those candles that I used to love, because of the inherent health hazard they carry. I’m always looking for natural alternatives that are chemical free, to provide a nice fresh smell in my home. When I came upon this DIY video for creating a natural air freshener I was intrigued.
The video below is a great tutorial for how to easily, inexpensively and quickly make your own fresh and chemical-free deodorizer. Two alternative versions are demonstrated, which differ slightly in how they release the fragrance.
For both versions, all you will need are: a MASON JAR WITH A TIN LID, HAMMER, FORK, EMPTY CANDLE CONTAINER, SCREWDRIVER, BAKING SODA AND SOME ESSENTIAL OIL. The DIY is easy to follow, and gives you a great means to slow-release a pleasant scent into any room in your home.

When it comes to cleaning just about everyone loves learning new simple ways to get the same old things done. It can be fun and interesting to discover what nifty and quick solutions people have come up with to solve common problems. This video, from YouTube channel Outdoors and Gear Review highlights a helpful trick for dealing with a common and difficult problem you’re likely to encounter when tidying and cleaning your bathroom up; hard water deposits and stains.
Hard water can be a real pain in the neck and the nasty looking stains and blemishes that it leaves behind on bathroom and kitchen surfaces can be extremely hard to fully remove. The ugly spots and stains are caused by water that contains large amounts of minerals such as limestone, calcium, and magnesium.
These metals and minerals are naturally occurring, most often in areas with low water tables and mountainous regions, and water that contains them is perfectly safe to use and drink. The biggest downside to it is the crusty, whitish colored mineral deposits and stubborn stains it leaves behind. Over time these gradually build up on stuff, especially faucets and shower heads.
Many people struggle to remove these stains and often think that they need strong, harsh chemical cleaners to get rid of them effectively. However, there’s a better and more affordable way to go about cleaning a shower head with crusted on mineral build up. All you need is apple cider vinegar, a Ziploc bag, and a rubber band.
Simply pour some apple cider vinegar into the plastic bag and place it over and on the shower head. Use a rubber band to secure it in place and then leave it on overnight. Remove the baggy the following day, wipe the shower head clean, and it should be restored to its former glory!
Check out the video for more information and to see just how shiny and spotless looking it turns out. This may be the fastest, easiest, and most natural way to clean hard water stains. It requires minimal effort or exertion on your part so try it the next time you’re stuck cleaning the house!

Check out These 5 Awesome Vaseline Life Hacks Everyone Should Know:
image via – facebook.com
While you may only think of Vaseline as an integral part of your grandmother’s home remedies and go to solutions, it actually really is a product that can seemingly do it all. People use the petroleum based, gooey, slippery substance for all sorts of things. There are countless household and beauty tricks that involve it, whether it’s loosening stuff up or smearing some on minor cuts and burns to help them heal. This article and video focuses on several beauty related uses for the product that may prove useful and come in handy, and will definitely save you time and money.
If you love to paint your nails then you likely have encountered polish bottles with their tops stuck on them. It takes almost superhuman strength to loosen and get them them of when they dry on and stick like that. To prevent this, take a cotton swab and dab some Vaseline around the base of the bottle opening and on the threads where the cap twists on, now it won’t stick the next time you go to open it.
Another nail polish trick is to coat the skin around your nails with some Vaseline before painting them. This will keep the polish from sticking to your skin, cut down on the clean up, and make your paint job look all the more professional.
If you have rough, dry skin on your feet rub a little Vaseline on them before you go to bed. Slather some all over your feet, then put on a pair of socks, and wake up to smooth soft skin. For those of us with sensitive ears that act up and become sore when wearing earrings, try rubbing Vaseline on the metal stud part that goes through your ear.
By coats the earring it helps them slide through and lessens any negative reaction or sensitivity you may have. If the scent of your perfume disappears way too quickly take some Vaseline, apply a thin coat to the area where you plan to spritz it on, then spray the perfume over that area. This works great at holding the fragrance and makes it last much more longer, plus it won’t alter the perfume’s scent.
If you haven’t already, toss a small jar of the wonder product in your bag so it’s always on hand close by. Use it to touch up makeup, soften rough skin, loosen stuck tops and lids, or as a lip gloss/chap-stick stand in when you inevitably lose or misplace them.
Besides being versatile, it’s also widely available and can be found in practically any pharmacy, health, convenience or grocery store around the world. Best of all, Vaseline is relatively cheap and costs only a few dollars, with a jar of it easily lasting a year or two before running out. With Vaseline, the possibilities may just be endless!

The Next Batch of Life Hacks are some incredibly useful winter life hacks that will make your life so much easier this winter:
image via : shutterstock.com
Along with the cold weather, there are a number of special challenges that winter brings along with it, and we all have to just deal with them! Dry skin, chapped lips, stuffy noses, darkness at 4PM, winter storms, the list goes on and on. One of the most annoying things by far is clearing walkways and driveways of snow and ice. The same goes for cars, but while you can often drive through a little bit of snow, you can’t with an ice-covered windshield. Not only is it illegal to drive with an obstructed view, it’s also insanely dumb and extremely dangerous!
While defrosting the car and scraping ice off the windshield seems like a necessary evil, it doesn’t have to be. You really don’t need to wake up extra early just to stumble around in the freezing cold darkness so that you can drive to work. Instead, you can save yourself some time and energy by doing the following:
In a spray bottle container mix together 2 parts isopropyl alcohol with 1 part water and then add in 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap. Shake it up, spray it directly onto an icy windshield, and watch the ice literally melt away right before your very eyes!
This rubbing alcohol spray is the perfect thing to have on hand for freezing cold mornings and icy windshields. You can leave the bottle in your car and it won’t even freeze, unless it gets well under zero. That’s because the freezing point of isopropyl alcohol is -128.2 degrees Fahrenheit, so when you spray it on the ice, it doesn’t freeze up. Instead, it helps to melt the ice and keeps it from re-freezing. Since all you have to do is mist it on, it’s by far the quickest and easiest way to clear a windshield that’s coated with a thick layer of ice.
Don’t forget to check out the video to see exactly how well this works in action and be sure to pass it along to those who could use the smart tip. If it can make someone’s life a little bit easier this winter, then it’s worth it!
This is super helpful for those rough winter months.

Winter is tough. Along with the cold, dry weather comes a number of challenges that we all have to deal with. Cars need to be cleared of snow and ice and the same goes for walkways and driveways. Traveling often becomes way more difficult than usual and to top it off our health also takes a tumble for the worse.
Many of us are plagued by dry itchy skin, sore chapped lips, and stuffy noses that just won’t go away. These things quickly add up and can make it seem like winter is dragging on forever, especially when problems pop up outside on top of the health issues we may be facing.
Which is why these simple winter hacks, covered by the Millennial Moms YouTube channel, are perfect for right now. The video features some of the most clever ways to solve common winter woes and it might offer a solution to a problem you’re currently dealing with. These are some of the best hacks shown in the clip, but there are a total of fifteen, so be sure to check it out for all of the rest.
1) Winterize Boots- This trick does the job to keep feet warm and dry inside of boots that aren’t waterproof. After putting on your socks take two large plastic Ziploc bags and stick a foot in each. Grab a couple of rubber bands and slide them on over the bag to secure it in place and seal the top off around your leg. Pull on your boots and say goodbye to cold, wet feet.
2) Prevent Static Build Up In Hair- Pull a dryer sheet on over the bristles of your hair brush so that they poke through. Brush your hair as normal to eliminate the static, plus it’ll smell clean and great.
3) DIY Boot Inserts- Maintain the shape of tall boots by cutting a foam pool noodle into thirds or fourths, then stick a piece in each boot and they’ll stay upright, making them easier to organize and wear later on.
4) Stop Wipers From Freezing to a Car Windshield- Take an old pair of long cotton socks and slide them over each wiper, puling it down as far as it can go or reaches. This will prevent wipers from freezing and/or sticking to the windshield, and makes life all the more easier.
5) Organize Winter Gear- Hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, hand warmers, neck warmers and all other winter accessories can be neatly stored in one accessible place with a shoe organizer. Hang it over a door and never search for lost gloves again.
6) Windshield Treatment- This one is the best! A combination of vinegar and water works wonders at preventing frost and ice from building up on car windshields and windows. Mix the two liquids up in a spray bottle, spritz it on car windows, then wipe off with a soft cloth.
7) Boot Tray- Keep floors safe, clean, and dry by making your own boot tray. This one is much more appealing than commercially available ones and works even better. Fill a large metal cookie sheet with a layer of decorative rocks and put it near the door so that when people enter they can immediately place wet boots on the rocks. The water will drip through the rocks to the bottom and soon evaporate. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the tips covered in the clip and be sure to pass it along to those who could use these smart hacks to make their own lives easier.
These are just really helpful.

Having your car professionally detailed can easily end up being quite expensive. While it’s always nice to have a sparkling clean car, it’s even better when you can have it without spending a small fortune. Thankfully there are all sorts of cheap ways to clean your car with common items that you probably already have around the house. They can do the job just as well, if not even better, than what professional cleaners use.
These are just a few of the handy tricks covered in the accompanying video so be sure to check it out for even more:
Clean your headlights with toothpaste. Use regular toothpaste, not the gel type, to polish up car headlight lenses by rubbing it on evenly with a cloth. Move in quick circular motions to then buff it off and you should notice the grime and fogginess disappear.
Remove stubborn old bumper stickers cleanly and completely with WD-40. Simply spray the sticker with WD-40 and let it sit for a while, the sticker will absorb it, then you can peel it right off.
Remove pet fur from carpets and seats with a spray bottle, water, and a squeegee. Spray the water on the seat and then move the squeegee over the area, it will gather and lift up the hair so you can easily pick it up.
Clean air vents with small foam brushes. They can easily fit in even the smallest vents and pick up all the dirt and dust inside them.
Use coffee filters to dust your car dashboard. Unlike cloth towels and paper towels, coffee filters won’t leave behind lint or just push dust around. Instead they work great at picking up dust and you can toss a few in the glove compartment for whenever you might need one to freshen up the dash.
Get streak free windows by cleaning them with newspaper. It’s the cloths and paper towels that leave streaks when you clean your windows so don’t even bother using them. Instead, spray down the window with cleaner and wipe it off with a piece of newspaper as you normally would.
Get rid of stubborn, lingering odors by sprinkling baking soda on car seats and carpets. Let it sit for a couple of hours before vacuuming it up. The baking soda should absorb the foul odors, leaving your car smelling fresh and clean.
There are even more clean car tips covered in the video and it might just have the solution you’ve been looking for so be sure to check it out!

Young Woman Rescues Scared Baby Bear
images via: youtube.com
What started off as an ordinary hike in the mountains ended up becoming an unforgettable, life altering experience for a young woman named Alice. She was due to report for basic training at the end of the week and had set out on a day hike to help clear her head. Having grown up in the mountains, she knew the trails well and always went prepared for the conditions and terrain. She decided to hike up to a nearby peak and as she walked up the worn path in the sunshine, she let her thoughts wander as she became immersed in nature.
Suddenly she was jarred out of her peaceful climb by the sound of faint, sorrowful cries. Curious as to what it could possibly be, she went towards the noise and found a baby bear cub that appeared to be trapped on a ledge. Judging from its location, it must have fallen down a steep cliff and came to rest on the narrow ledge about halfway down. The cub’s mother was at the top of the cliff pacing around, desperately trying to find a way down to her baby, but unable to.
As Alice looked on and tried to assess the situation, the little bear cub began to try and climb up the cliff. It hadn’t gone far before it suddenly lost its grip and fell back down onto the ledge, catching its leg in a soft spot and breaking through. Now the cub’s back leg was trapped and as it struggled to free itself it cried out loudly in pain and distress.
Alice knew that the cub couldn’t make it off the cliff alive without help and decided then and there to attempt a rescue. She was an experienced rock climber, but she didn’t have any equipment on her except for one rope she carried in her backpack. With nothing to tie the rope to, she had no choice but to free climb and improvise. Working quickly, she lightened her bag of any unnecessary stuff, texted her location and what she was doing to her parents, and started to make her way down to the cub.
It was hot as Alice climbed down the cliff and she was fully exposed to the sun, making her sweaty. Several times she slipped and almost fell but thankfully regained her balance. All the while the mama bear was up above her crying and pacing around, which sent gravel and loose rocks raining down around her. Despite the heat and debris, about half an hour later she had finally reached the cub.
Being a trapped and cornered wild animal, the poor baby was naturally nervous, scared, and agitated. Carefully, with her back against the cliff, Alice attempted to soothe the cub by talking quietly and calmly, while also trying to examine how it was stuck. She would have to get the little guy turned in the right direction to free its leg, but if it went in the other direction in its possible struggle against her, it could easily fall and die.
Alice took her time and soon the cub began to calm down and relax. Once it stopped crying, she was able to gently touch the bear, re-adjust herself, and retrieve the rope from her backpack. Working quickly, she wrapped the rope around its waist and as she tied it behind its front legs, the cub rested its head on her shoulder. The simple act moved Alice to tears, she was the cub’s best, and perhaps only chance, of survival.
With the bear secured, she tied the rope to her waist and began to free its leg from the rock ledge. Thankfully, she easily maneuvered it out without causing the cub any more pain. A quick look showed the leg to be scratched up and bruised, but not broken. Now came the hard part, getting off the ledge without injuring the cub or herself.
She could either go up or down the cliff, and knowing her strength and climbing abilities, Alice knew that she couldn’t climb up. The cub weighed too much and if it suddenly struggled or panicked, they would both end up dead. The only way was down, and she would have to lower the cub first. She took a deep breath and eased the cub over the side, which naturally caused it to freak out. However, one it noticed it was still safe and not falling down, the cub began to relax. Slowly and methodically she began to lower the cub down the side of the cliff until he reached solid ground.
Having burned up a lot of energy when lowering the cub to the ground, Alice took a much needed break to catch her breath. However, after just a couple of minutes she noticed that the ledge she was on had begun to crumble. Pieces of it were falling down and landing close to where the cub was so she stepped to the side, took a deep breath, and began to climb down.
On the way down Alice found that the rock face to be craggier, so it was a lot easier to find holds. Even still, the climb was exhausting, and her muscles were burning, but she was still a long way up. She needed to lighten her load and dumping her bag was the only real option she had. Finding a stable spot to rest on, she carefully took off her backpack and dropped it down. Feeling lighter immediately, she resumed her descent with the hot sun beating down on her. Minutes passed by, but it felt like hours. Finally she reached the bottom and collapsed.
Her legs felt like jelly, and she wasn’t able to really move so she crawled over to some trees for shade. The little cub was thrilled to see his new friend on solid ground and was no longer scared of her. He crawled all over Alice as she lay there trying to catch her breath, and she was able to untie the rope from around his waist. She still had to reunite him with his mother, but she had no idea how she was going to do that, and for now all she could do was rest.
Suddenly, the cub stopped playing and stood on its hind legs with its ears perked up. It was looking towards the forest and Alice heard a rusting sound growing louder through the trees. The mama bear appeared seemingly out of nowhere and rushed straight to her cub’s side. They tumbled around on the ground together and now that the mama knew her baby was safe, Alice decided she should make her exit.
As much as she wanted to move along, she was still too tired, and since the mama bear showed no signs of aggression, she stayed still so that she could rest longer. However, the cub wanted to play more with Alice, and she had to wave him away, which made her scared of angering the protective mother bear. Despite the cub’s antics, the mother bear still seemed disinterested in harming Alice. In fact, the bear seemed to be looking for something as it got up and ambled along the bottom of the cliff. Suddenly, the mama bear came towards her and in its mouth, it held her backpack!
The mama bear placed the pack right next to Alice, walked off a bit, and sat down. While shocked and grateful at this completely unexpected act of kindness, Alice wasted no time in getting out her water bottle and gulping it down. As the trio sat there quietly, it was as if the mama bear was watching over her as she rested.
Suddenly off in the distance, Alice heard her name being called. It was her parents, who had gotten her message and come to meet her. Fearing that the mother bear might not take kindly to strangers, Alice got ready to go. However, the bear seemed to understand what was happening and got up to leave. As she passed by Alice, she gently touched her foot, as if to say thanks, and the cub nuzzled up to her and allowed her to hug him before they disappeared.
When her parents reached her, she told them the incredible story. The huge bear prints on the ground around her were the only real proof she had to back up the unbelievable series of events that had taken place. Her parents were simply relieved she was safe and sound as they had worried about her and come looking.
In the years that followed, Alice always thought back upon her chance encounter with the bears when she needed a reminder of her strength. She had reached deep inside to find the willpower to keep going in order to save herself and the cub, and it was that cherished memory that got her through basic training and many other challenging times.

A Hurt Marine Salutes For Over Three Hours
images via: youtube.com
In the scorching midday heat a lone man stands at attention in the middle of the street. He is in full military dress uniform, proudly displaying patches and medals he earned throughout his time serving. He raises his right arm to his forehead in salute and unwaveringly holds this rigid pose for the next three hours.
The soldier’s name is Sergeant Tim Chambers, a veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1994-2009. He was attending the Rolling Thunder event in Washington DC and standing at salute as a way to honor fallen or missing in action soldiers. Those who had lost their lives in service to the country were being memorialized that year, with their names being etched into a new war memorial. For Tim, the event was personal, and he was on a mission to stand at salute the entire time no matter what.
The event was packed and despite the commotion and crowds, he remained solidly in place, feet planted firmly with his right hand raised in a seemingly unending salute. As time ticked by, others began to take notice of his silent stand and soon a crowd had gathered nearby. People lined the road, watching silently, some waved American flags, while others who passed by nodded in his direction in silent solidarity with the soldier.
As he stood under the hot sun, he couldn’t help but think of his fallen brother, Mark. The two were identical twin brothers and had been inseparable all throughout their lives. Sharing the same interests and passions, they naturally joined the marines together and eventually ended up serving side by side.
The brothers had been sent to a war zone where their unit came under attack in an ambush set up by enemy spies who knew the area well. The soldiers fought back with everything they had, but the enemy had planned their attack well with multiple snipers in place and intimate knowledge of their surroundings. As soon as the attack started, two marines were killed immediately. Amid the chaotic scramble to return fire and get to safety, Tim was shot by a sniper, taking a bullet to the leg.
Fully exposed out in the open and bleeding profusely, he struggled to get to cover. That’s when Mark spotted him and raced out into the open to pull Tim to safety, shielding him with his body as bullets flew by, narrowly missing them and kicking up dust. It was during their dash to find cover that one of the snipers took aim at Mark and shot him in the head. He died immediately, coming to a final rest on top of Tim, shielding him from the sniper fire in one final act of bravery.
The memory of that day and those final moments were constantly on Tim’s mind. While he initially had blamed himself for Mark’s death, over the years he had come to terms with what had happened and no longer felt such heavy guilt. Now he was on a mission to keep the memory of his brother alive, and his unwavering salute was part of his tribute to Mark.
As the two hour mark passed, Tim’s hand grew heavier, his arm ached, and his injured leg was acting up. The sun was beating down making him drip sweat, but he held steady standing at full salute. Time ticked by, and the crowd that had gathered began to thin out a little, when suddenly a low rumble filled the air.
In the distance a group of bikers appeared. They were decked out in leather, and many wore patches. While expected, their presence nonetheless caused a bit of unease among those gathered. Many bikers were assumed to be outlaws or part of a gang, and with their loud bikes and tattoos, it only added to their reputation as being mostly troublemakers. The group pulled up and parked their bikes, then silently formed a circle around Tim.
Looking on, the crowd had gone silent as the bikers stood at attention. Then, they raised their arms in salute alongside Tim and remained with him for minutes on end. This simple symbolic act of honoring and showing respect for the fallen and missing soldiers and their families was not lost on everyone who witnessed it. Those who sacrificed all while serving their country would not be forgotten and the actions of Tim and the bikers helped to keep their memories alive and well.
Suddenly, one of the bikers approached Tim. He reached into a pocket and pulled out a cold bottle of water, saying to Tim “Take a sip brother, it’s too hot out here.” The biker twisted off the top and held the bottle up to his mouth so Tim could drink without breaking his salute.
More minutes passed and Tim joined the bikers in the circle, all of them still saluting and holding steady. Another biker stepped forward silently and took out a pocket fan. He held it up to Tim’s face, giving him some much needed cooling relief from the brutal sun. Then another biker went over to Tim and stood behind him holding an umbrella to help shield him. Their kindness brought a tear to his eye and reinforced his will to hold his salute until the very end.
When the sun started to go down and the event was over, Tim finally lowered his arm and ended his salute. The bikers also ended their salute and one by one they acknowledged or thanked him for his service, many having shared that same connection being veterans themselves. The mutual respect and silent understanding between the lone soldier and bikers was not lost on anyone watching. They were honoring the memory of those who had made the ultimate sacrifice in a simple yet powerful way.

We are going to thoroughly run through some of the best little known vinegar life hacks that will make your life so much easier.
Is your drain clogged? Try pouring baking soda, followed by vinegar, down the drain and watch the magic. Something gooey sticking to your wall? Grab the vinegar and give it a squirt, then easily wipe it away.
Does your trash can smell like garbage, even when it’s empty? Soak a piece of bread in vinegar and leave it in the garbage can overnight, and voila, no more stank. It can also be used as an all-purpose cleaner: just fill up a spray bottle with one third vinegar and two thirds water.
Too many fruit flies? Fill a glass with apple cider vinegar, cover it with plastic wrap, and poke a few holes. The flies enter, but cannot escape. It can even be used to straighten clothes if an iron isn’t available. A few other uses include keeping cats off the furniture, helping cut flowers stay fresh longer, getting tough stains out of pots and pans and cleaning glasses for a smudge-free sheen.

This Young Little Baby Elephant Wouldn’t Get Up

Elephants are one of the most intelligent animals on Earth. They have large brains and are known for having great memories. They are even among the few species that are able to recognize their own self-reflection in a mirror. While their numbers in the wild are dwindling, many zoos and programs have been set up to help rescue and keep the population as stable and healthy as possible. Such is the case at the Prague Zoo in the Czech Republic, where a herd of Indian elephants live. They have a huge enclosure filled with plants native to their wild habitat and immersive features that keep them happy and engaged.
All the work and thought put into the elephant’s living space came to fruition when Janita, a large female, and a male named Mekong, fell for each other. Janita became pregnant and was expecting the zoo’s first baby elephant! This exciting development signified that the herd felt bonded, safe, happy, and secure in their enclosure and it reminded them of their wild habitat.
Elephants have the longest gestation period of any animal and so after two years Janita finally gave birth to her baby, a boy named Max. He was a handful right from the start and brought a whole new energy and life to the herd. Like all babies, Max loved to play and spent his days running around, splashing around in the watering hole, and rolling in the mud. He naturally drew crowds, as people loved to see him getting into things, and he’d even interact with people by tapping his trunk on the glass. He was seemingly always active and exploring different things, which was a clear sign that he was developing healthily and happily.
One day Max was busy running around when he suddenly stopped, walked over to a shady spot under a tree, and laid down. He appeared to have passed out as soon as his head hit the grass, and so the people who’d been watching him assumed he was still playing.
However, he didn’t pop up soon afterwards and as time went on his mother Janita went to go check on him. Looking concerned, she ambled over and reached out her trunk to wake him. Instead of waking, Max seemed to twitch a little, and Janita became more concerned. She circled around him and continued to try and nudge him up, but he just laid there motionless.
All the while, the other elephants in the herd kept away and stayed back. They didn’t seem all that worried about Max and didn’t try to approach him or Janita. This seemed odd to zookeepers who assumed that they’d go over to help, comfort, or see what the matter was. But they just watched on from afar.
As time ticked on the people watching grew silent and Janita began to push and nudge at Max more insistently, urging him to get up. Max twitched a little, but other than that remained motionless. Was he sick, injured, dehydrated, ill? No one knew as he’d just been running around moments earlier.
After getting no response from her son, Janita turned towards where zookeepers were looking on and motioned to them by raising her trunk and waving it at them. She was clearly asking for their help, and this was a huge moment. Not only did it show how intelligent she was by communicating, it also meant she trusted them and knew they could do something.
Her pleas were answered, and the zookeepers rushed to Max’s side. Janita backed off a bit while they tended to him, all the while keeping a watchful eye on what was happening. Despite their best efforts, all the pushing and prodding was failing to rouse Max. Each passing second seemed like forever, but then one of the zookeepers began to smile and Max suddenly popped up and ran off to continue playing right where he’d left off! It appeared that he had been so tired from playing that he passed out in a deep sleep that only the zookeeper’s rough shaking could wake him from and nothing bad had happened.
Upon seeing this, the crowd that had gathered breathed a collective sigh of relief. Janita noticeably relaxed as well and patted her baby down with her trunk, making sure he was truly ok. As they zookeepers left the enclosure, she waved her trunk at them again, but this time it was to say thank you.
It was also now clear why the other elephants had stayed back. They knew Max was being a baby and pretending to sleep, so they had no reason to truly worry. While Janita was being an overprotective mother and fretting, they stayed clear and let her do her thing. The whole interaction is truly a testament to how intelligent and trusting these gentle giants can be if given the proper respect and care.

Hurt Bear Brings Dying Baby Bear To This Guy
images via: youtube.com
The age old adage to never turn your back on a bear is well known to those who spend a lot of time outdoors in bear country. While excellent advice, it isn’t always possible to heed it, and for one man fishing on a fateful day, such was the case.
Shaun had been at his favorite spot looking to reel in dinner but hadn’t had much luck catching anything, so he decided to head home. As he made his way through the woods he suddenly came upon a huge black bear. A seasoned outdoorsman, he knew that he shouldn’t turn his back on the bear or run away. Instead, he tried to make himself as large and intimidating as possible by raising his arms high to try and get the bear to leave him alone. The bear responded by sitting on its back legs, sniffing the air. This behavior meant the bear was curious about him, which was better than the possible alternative, and gave him the opportunity to try and slip away.
Keeping his eyes on the bear, Shaun slowly began to move away. However, she began crying and moaning in a way that seemed to express great distress. The haunting sounds made him look closer at the animal and that’s when he noticed it was bleeding from deep wounds on its side and front paw. It dawned on him that this must be the bear he had noticed earlier on his way to the fishing spot. He had seen a mother bear and cub playing in the water. It was a memorable sight that made him smile, but if this was the mama bear, where was her cub?
Seeing something was clearly amiss, Shaun quickly made his way back to the river with the bear following closely behind. He no longer felt threatened by the animal and rather than fear, he felt solidarity with her. Back at the bank, he spotted the cub in the river. It looked like it was stuck clinging to some rocks in fast flowing water that kept pushing its head under water. The mother must’ve tried to rescue her baby and gotten injured, now it was up to him to try and rescue the cub.
Knowing how fast and dangerous the current was, Shaun devised a plan to get the cub without drowning himself. He quickly laid out his fishing gear and took some rope, trying it around himself and leaving a long piece dangling in front of him, before tying the other end to a sturdy tree near the river edge. Then he jumped in the water and swam out towards where he’d last seen the cub, kicking and fighting the swift current to get to the rocky spot. Being a former Navy Seal, he was the best man for the job, but even still, the rushing water was almost overpowering him.
Once he reached some rocks, Shaun took a moment to re-orient and see where the cub was. He spotted the baby not too far away downstream and was about to go for him when the little bear suddenly lost its grip and was swept even further downstream. Knowing that it was now or never, Shaun kicked off a large rock and swam as hard as he could towards the cub who was now beginning to disappear under the water. The baby was clearly exhausted and seemed to be giving up. To make matters worse the rope was getting tight, but just as the cub went under again, Shaun reached for him and managed to grab ahold!
Seconds later, the rope violently jerked them back but since the cub wasn’t struggling, he managed to keep his grip. Now he needed to get them safely back to shore but had to do a tricky maneuver first to free his hands and arms up. Treading water, he took the piece of rope he’d left clear in front of him and tied it securely around the cub who was now motionless in dire shape.
All the while, the mama bear was crying and pacing the riverbank. Shaun worried how she’d react when he came ashore with her injured cub but forced himself to focus on getting there first. Working off pure adrenaline, he swam sideways towards the shore with all the energy he had left. When he felt the sandy bottom, he knew he’d be able to walk to safety but as he stood, he saw the mama bear running straight at him. He had to get the rope off the cub before she reached him, which he managed to do just in time. The mama bear grabbed her cub and whisked him away, leaving Shaun laying on the riverbank exhausted and soaking wet.
Moments later, he heard the mother bears anguished cries once again, before he spotted her coming towards him with her limp cub’s body. She softly placed her baby near him before moving off a ways, as if to give him room to try and save it. Listening for a heartbeat, he heard a faint one, and began CPR. After what seemed like forever, the cub started coughing and moving, it was breathing and alive! Shaun moved away from the baby as its mother came over to check on it and he felt like the ordeal was over, but he was wrong.
Several minutes later as the bears were walking off, Shaun noticed the mother was unsteady. Suddenly, she fell over with a huge thud and laid motionless on the ground. It was then that he noticed she had huge gashes all over her body and had likely lost a lot of blood. Miles away from cell service or his cabin and exhausted, he didn’t know what to do. The baby cub was scampering all over its mother, as if it was trying to wake her up, and all this just broke Shaun’s heart.
It was then that he heard the familiar sound of an engine, so he shouted for help. Forrest rangers emerged from the trees and immediately set to work trying to help save the mother bear. They had been alerted to the situation by some hikers who had seen Shaun in the river rescuing the cub. They’d run to call for help which had arrived just in time with the right equipment for the job.
The rangers bandaged the unresponsive mama bear’s wounds and moved her to a crate before bringing her and her baby to a wildlife hospital that could properly care for them. Shaun got a ride back to his cabin and as happy as he was about the outcome, he still worried about what would happen to the bears.
He decided to visit them at the hospital the following day and when he saw the extent of the mama bear’s injuries, he marveled at how she had endured all the pain and blood loss for her cub, who was also still very weak and resting. It took a while, as the mother had to overcome infections in her wounds, but the pair healed to the point where they could be safely released back into the wild.
Shaun had visited them almost daily and was there to see the moment they were let go in the forest. Once the cage doors were opened the mama bear ran off, while the cub stayed and looked back at the people who had helped them, before running off when his mother called. It was a bittersweet moment for him, as Shaun felt connected to the bear family, but he was happy to see them back in their home.
A week or so later, Shaun was out on his porch sipping coffee when he noticed a mama bear and her cub sunning themselves at the edge of the forest. The mama bear had shorter patches of fur, so he knew it was them. He’d also end up seeing them often at the river. While he kept a safe, respectful distance, he nonetheless felt a close, spiritual connection to them that never went away.

Winter is tough. Along with the cold, dry weather comes a number of challenges that we all have to deal with. Cars need to be cleared of snow and ice and the same goes for walkways and driveways. Many of us are plagued by dry itchy skin, sore chapped lips, and stuffy noses that just won’t go away. These things quickly add up and can make it seem like winter is dragging on forever, especially when problems pop up outside on top of the health issues we may be facing.

Tiger Bows To Little Girl
images via: youtube.com
When new parents Andrea and Connor decided to treat their young daughter, Mandy, to a trip to the zoo, they had no idea how meaningful the trip would turn out. Even though Mandy was still young and just learning how to talk, they had already been to the zoo several times. The youngster couldn’t get enough of the animals and her parent’s excitement to show her all of them meant it was a no brainer to go.
As soon as they arrived, Mandy made it clear she wanted to go and see the tigers. They were her favorite animals and she had even brought her plushie toy tiger along for the trip. Once inside the gates the little girl made a beeline for the big cat enclosure, excitedly running ahead of her parents. When they finally joined her, Andrea and Connor noticed there was a new tiger in the habitat. It was a beautiful Bengal tiger that sat towards the back on a rock, just within sight, so Mandy didn’t notice it right away.
The tiger enclosure was quite large and big enough to afford the tigers privacy if they wished to be out of sight from visitors. It also featured huge walls of safety glass for people to view the big cats safely behind. Benches and seating areas were scattered around, and Mandy’s parents sat down on one close by while she ran back and forth in front of the glass excitedly greeting each tiger and saying hello.
A sign detailing the new tiger said that its name was Koshi, and as soon as Koshi spotted Mandy he slowly made his way forward towards her. Once he reached the glass he stopped and sat, his gaze settling on the little girl. There were many other children in the area and several of them tried to get Koshi’s attention, but he only paid attention to Mandy. When she noticed the tiger watching her, she finally stopped running around and stood still right in front of him, meeting his gaze.
That’s when Koshi placed his paws up on the glass and jumped a bit, his massive body fully stretched out, as if he here trying to reach out to. All the other kids nervously moved back a bit, but Mandy stayed still and continued watching Koshi in awe. She walked forward right up to the glass and put her hands up on it to where Koshi’s paws were, the tiger then bowed his head down to her, and for a moment time seemed to stand still.
Right after this happened, other kids tried to get Koshi’s attention hoping for a repeat of what he did with Mandy, but the tiger was completely uninterested in anyone else. Instead, as Mandy continued to run along the glass, he followed her. Initially Andrea and Connor thought perhaps the tiger was stalking their daughter, but upon looking closely at his eyes, Andrea could only see sadness. Their little game of cat and mouse continued on but as time passed the viewing area became crowded. Mandy’s parents tried to get her to be respectful of others so they could enjoy the tigers too, but she was just too excited and full of energy. Andrea sensed some disapproving looks and noticed a zookeeper staring at them, so she decided to steer Mandy away so they could visit all the other animals.
The zoo was very spacious and focused on keeping both animals and visitors safe and happy. With a focus on conservation and education, there were a variety of enrichment programs that had been set up. Visitors were also given opportunities to safely interact with some of the animals, and that day Mandy was able to feed ostriches and a giraffe.
After eating lunch and visiting some newborn baby gorillas, Mandy could only talk about one thing: Koshi. She wanted to go back and see him, so towards the end of the day they returned to the no longer crowded tiger enclosure. Koshi was in the back on his rock again, looking sad. Upon seeing him, Mandy called out his name and immediately the tiger’s ears perked up. He spotted the little girl and ran towards the glass, then he sat in front of her and bowed his head down once again. It was a beautiful sight, but also somewhat strange and perplexing. Why had the tiger done this and why only with Mandy? Soon they would learn the sad reason.
A zookeeper who Connor had noticed was watching them throughout the day approached the couple, eager to explain why he believed the tiger was reacting to their daughter in this manner. He was the head zookeeper named Sam and he worked with the tigers very closely. He explained how Koshi had been rescued several months earlier from a poaching and animal trafficking ring where he’d been kept by a man as a pet. In order to prevent him from hurting anyone, his captor had tied him up in heavy chains and de-clawed him. De-clawing any cat is extremely painful and the cat will be affected by the barbaric surgery for the rest of their life. De-clawed cats are traumatized by it, and many have behavioral issues stemming from the pain. It should be banned and outlawed everywhere.
While in pain and captivity, Koshi had been tended to by a housekeeper’s young daughter That little girl treated him right, made sure he ate, always had fresh water, and would even place her head against his in order to comfort him. She was the one positive thing in his life, and this was most likely why Koshi had been bowing his head on the glass towards Mandy.
When the police raided the captor’s estate, they confiscated Koshi and reached out to the zoo to re-home him. The zoo learned of the housekeeper’s daughter and her bond with the tiger and offered her to come visit him whenever she wished, but she lived far away so was unable to regularly see him. While he was a young, calmer cat who fit in with the other tigers, he was also deeply depressed and spent his days lying by himself, ignoring everyone, and barely eating anything. The spark that Sam noticed when he saw Koshi interact with Mandy was the first positive sign he’d seen from the tiger since his arrival months ago.
The zookeeper was excited by this new development. Now he knew just how much the tiger needed that unspeakable connection to the young girl and how Mandy must’ve reminded him of it. He asked Mandy’s parents if they could come back regularly to interact with the tiger and help draw him out of his depression. Wanting to do anything and everything, he gave them a zoo pass and told them they could come in early so Koshi and Mandy could play alone.
Being animal lovers and wanting to help, Mandy’s parents took him up on the offer and brought her to see Koshi often. Slowly but surely his depression lifted and eventually Koshi went on to play and interact with his fellow tigers.
Over the years that followed, Mandy’s connection with Koshi and the many other zoo animals she interacted with only grew stronger. She found her life’s calling and ended up becoming a veterinarian at the zoo where she works to this day. It’s beautiful how they each changed the others’ life for the better and helped in ways that are still playing out.

Everytime I went to my best friends house it smelled incredible. But then she showed me This Trick:
images via – youtube.com

Vinegar is arguably one of the most useful substances on the planet, at least when it comes to making life in your home easier, less expensive and safer! Why use nasty chemicals that cost an arm and a leg when you can use something that has been proven by time and countless mothers and grandmothers? I personally use vinegar for more things than I can count, and I have known about the wonderful liquid since before I can remember because my mom used it for literally everything.
Let us know what you think in the comments.
