She Sticks Her Hand Into The Water. But Everyone On The Boat Is Stunned When The UNTHINKABLE Comes Out!

image via – facebook.com

Whale-spotting is always an exciting event, as these awesome creatures have such an extraordinary essence.  The video you are about to watch below was filmed in Mexico’s famed San Ignacio Lagoon, an area that is renowned for being one of the most likely places in the world to see whales!

In fact, due to the abundance of whales in San Ignacio, whales seem to have grown comfortable with human presence in this lagoon, often actually approaching the tourist boats.  However, the boats are prohibited from initiating the contact with the whales; they are required to wait patiently in one spot, in the hope that a whale will make the approach toward them.

Surprisingly, the whales aren’t avoidant about coming close; they do so quite frequently, which indicates that they have grown to trust human interaction. In the incredible footage captured by these excited whale-watchers, you will see a mother gray whale appear and then proudly lift up her baby calf.

This was astounding, as whales are extremely protective of their young.  The excitement of the tourists on the boat is palpable, as they enjoy this rare and beautiful event.

Watch the video below for this once in a lifetime experience! 🙂

THIS Cat Had a Litter of 7 Tiny Kittens. But What The Family Dog Does To Them Is UNTHINKABLE!

image via – youtube.com

Dogs and cats are often portrayed as natural enemies, but we all know that in many situations that is simply not the case.  There are countless stories of cats and dogs getting along just fine, some are even best friends. The canine-feline bond is extremely strong among many of the animals, to the point where sometimes they’ll even adopt and care for each other’s babies!

When Regina, a woman who lives in Louisiana, was asked to take care of two cats for a friend who had joined the U.S. Navy, she was more than happy to welcome them into her home.  Wanting them to be comfortable, she gave the kitties, Gail and Tara, their own space in her sewing room and they quickly settled in. While one of the cats, Tara, initially seemed to be a bit bloated to both Regina and her roommate, they soon dismissed any concerns they’d had and thought that maybe she was just a huskier cat.

All that changed when a few weeks later Regina woke to the sound of meowing.  The cats were usually very quiet, so she went and checked on them. What she found was that Tara wasn’t fat, instead she’d been pregnant and had given birth to two tiny kittens!  By the end of the day, her litter would grow to contain seven newborns and Tara was beyond happy with her new litter.

In addition to her feline guests, Tara and her roommate had two dogs living with them, Archer and Zooey.  At first the dogs could have cared less about the new kittens, but over time that changed. Archer, a Dachshund mix, began to develop a very keen interest in them a short while after they were born.  This worried Regina, she wasn’t sure why he was suddenly so honed in on them, so she decided to introduce them all properly. Under her watchful eye, she let Archer get close and sniff them out, and what he did showed her how harmless his interest was!  All that he ended up doing was licking them all over and their cat mother seemed grateful for the new extra help.

Pretty soon Archer had assumed the father position to the kittens.  He loved spending time with them and would pick them up by their scruffs.  He’d bring them along with him everywhere he went. In fact, a couple of times he even brought them to Regina’s bed so they could all cuddle!   Archer truly loved them all so much and turned out to be a great help because he’d clean and play with them and make sure they didn’t get into too much trouble.

As the kittens grew up and got bigger, caring for 9 cats and two dogs was becoming a lot of work.  While Regina probably wanted to keep them all, she knew that she couldn’t. She wanted the best for them all and eventually found them new forever homes.  While Archer undoubtedly missed them, life soon went back to normal. Regina will never forget the love and devotion he showed them, and it just goes to show that cats and dogs can come together to be a loving family.

6 Years Ago a Sheep Escaped and Grew 60lbs of Wool. They Were Stunned But Wait Til’ You See Him Now!

image via – youtube.com

There once was a Merino sheep named Shrek who lived on a farm in South Island, New Zealand.  When he was four years old, he decided to strike out on his own and so he ran away from home.  Escaping into the surrounding wilderness, he spent his time happily grazing and exploring the beautiful landscape.  To avoid detection he hid in local caves where he knew he’d be safe.

Shrek’s time in the wild came to an end when he was eventually discovered in 2004.  To say he had changed a bit would be an understatement. When he left, he had been well groomed with a short fleece coat.  When he re-appeared, he was a giant poufy mass of wool. Upon seeing him for the first time after all those years his owner, John Perry, described the elusive sheep as looking like some ancient biblical creature!

While sheep normally get sheared once a year, Shrek hadn’t been sheared in 6 years.  Because Merino sheep never shed their fleece like many other types of sheep typically do, it meant Shrek’s coat simply kept on growing.  Over the years he was at large he produced a whole lot of wool, so much that it weighed 60 pounds. In fact, the amount of wool he had on him was enough to make 20 large men’s suits.

When he was finally sheared, Shrek looked like a shell of his former self, but in a healthy, good type of way.  He could see a whole lot better once it was out of his eyes and he probably felt a lot cooler, not to mention lighter.  At the time of his shearing, Shrek had already become a local celebrity in sheep-mad New Zealand. He ended up meeting the prime minister at the time, Helen Clarke, and the countries national television broadcast his amazing transformation for everyone to see.  Being a sheep of the people, his fleece was auctioned off with the proceeds going to benefit children’s medical charities.

Shrek’s time in the limelight didn’t end there, he went on to appear in many children’s books and made guest appearances for various charities.  Perhaps the highlight of his fame, and the craziest thing he ever experienced, came two years after his initial TV appearance when he was once again sheared on live TV.  This time however, he got his haircut while on an iceberg that was floating off the coast of Dunedin, New Zealand!

THIS Lake In Oregon Completely Evaporated and Dried Out! Then a Mysterious and Scary Ghost Town Was Revealed!

image via – youtube.com

In 1955 the town of Old Detroit was officially abandoned, any and all residents were ordered out by  the US government. Soon afterwards water flooded in and all of the buildings and whatever else had been left behind was swallowed up by a new reservoir in Marion County, Oregon.  From that point on, the town and surrounding area was called Detroit Lake, which today supplies water to the capital city of Salem and other nearby towns.

When the region experiences low rainfall and a prolonged drought, water levels at the lake inevitably drop.  In 2015 the lake had reached a record low of 143 feet below capacity and things that had long ago been buried underwater were once again out in the open.  One relic from the past that was spotted was a 19th century utility wagon laying on its side in the muck.  A still in-tact cast iron plate on it showed that it was made by the Milburn Wagon Company of Toledo, Ohio and historians have estimated it to be about 130 years old.

It stayed in excellent shape all those years because it’d been buried at the bottom of the lake in a low oxygen environment. It’s brief exposure to air and sunlight probably damaged it more than the 100+ years being underwater did and thankfully its location was kept a secret by those who saw it.  In addition to the never before seen wagon, a cement lined octagonal pit was also discovered. However, no one has been able to figure out what it could be or what it was once used for.

The history of the lake and surrounding area is just as interesting as the random things that can be spotted in the mud when water levels drop.  Founded in 1880, the town of Old Detroit sprung up as a place originally meant to house the men who were working on the Oregon Pacific Railroad. When the railroad went bust, it became a place where primarily farmers, loggers and their families settled to work the land.  At one time there was a school and cafes, a hardware store, movie theater, tavern and church all dotting the streets. Life was good in the quiet picturesque rural community, but there were issues.

The main problem facing the area was that the Santiam River, part of the Willamette River basin, often flooded and was unpredictable.  Snowmelt from the Cascades and rainfall led to severe floods that raced down the canyon and valleys destroying everything in their path.  After years of expensive floods that wiped out families and farms downstream, Congress finally passed the Flood Control Act of 1938. It provided for dams to be built that would control the flooding and generate electricity.  Detroit Dam was one of them and by the time it was finished it measured 1,580 long, 360 feet high, and could hold 455,000 acre-feet of water.

However, before Detroit Dam could be put into operation, the town’s several hundred residents had to be relocated.  They’d asked the government for land to re-site the city on but were denied and so they turned to a local timber baron, A.B. Hammond, who was more accommodating.  He developed an old logging camp in the area and divided it up into lots which he sold to the displaced residents and other newer arrivals.

Finally in 1955 the dam was operational, and the North Santiam River went from being a swift moving, sometimes raging river, to a huge lake that covered the city of Old Detroit.  The town has been sitting at the bottom of the reservoir ever since and rarely makes an appearance. Only when the water levels drop off super low does anything from the past appear and 2015 was the last time that happened.

Their Pitbulls Were Barking Non-Stop At The Bushes. Then Granny Realizes Why Picks Up Her Grandkids and Sprints!

image via – youtube.com

Of all the dogs in the world, no breed has worse more of a bad rap than Pitbulls. The dog’s that were initially known as the “Nanny Dogs” because they were so good with young children and were the best family dogs in the United States way back in the early 1900’s. However, over the years these Nanny Dogs soon became notorious as the most ruthless, feared and scary attack dogs that could snap on anyone at any moment including their owners.

This stigma that has followed them like a dark cloud over the past few decades truly doesn’t reflect the nature of the breed. The problem is, many Pitbulls were trained by humans to fight and be aggressive since they were wee little pups. The dogs that were brainwashed early on have made negative headlines every year for snapping, attacking, hurting and in some cases even causing fatalities to other pets and people.

Like many stereotypes, a few bad seeds have set the precedence for the rest of the breed even though they are still wonderful dogs at heart and are only aggressive and mean if they are trained to be. People who own these dogs love them and try to spread the good word about them, however many people are set in their beliefs and changing people’s minds about Pitbulls has been near impossible to accomplish. There are even neighborhoods where laws have been passed banning the breed from living or even stepping foot on these properties. With all this being said today we will focus on the positive as we tell the tale of two Pitbulls who are actual heroes.

In this story we will be featuring two Pitbulls named Paco and Slayer. These dogs have lived with their family since they were puppies and were brought up with love and compassion and turned out to be wonderful dogs. They are members of the Butt family who have young children and never once have they snapped or been aggressive to any of the kids. However they have been amazing, extraordinary loving companions to the whole family.

One afternoon grandma and her grandchildren were outside on the lawn playing, when Paco and Slayer ears perked up and their noses lifted as they sensed that there was some sort of danger lurking nearby. They began to bark uncontrollably at the bushes as grandma tried to reign them in, they just wouldn’t let up! That’s when grandma saw what the two dogs were barking at, she grabbed her grandchildren and ran for the hills…

Photographer Discovers a Hidden Home In The Woods But Opens The Door and Sees The UNTHINKABLE!

image via – youtube.com

Urban exploring has risen dramatically in popularity over the last several years.  People love looking around old abandoned buildings and homes to see what’s hidden behind their walls and Leslie David from Ontario, Canada is one of them.

One day while out looking for places to explore Leslie stumbled upon an old red house with a partially caved in roof and weeds growing over the front entrance.  It looked in pretty rough shape and run down, so she naturally assumed it was abandoned. After making her way carefully inside, she was shocked to see that it was not an old vacant home and that someone was actually living there.

Rather than be upset that some strange girl had just walked into his house, the homeowner smiled and welcomed her.  He was an older man named Lawrence who had lived there alone for many years. The older he got, the harder it became for him to get around and so he rarely ventured outside.  Adding to his isolation was that he was almost blind, his right eye was gone and the left one was filled with vision blurring cataracts.

Leslie and Lawrence ended up talking for hours about his life and current situation.  She was taken aback at how sweet and kind he was, and it made her sad to see him so alone.  He wasn’t eating very well or taking good care of himself, it was like he had almost given up on life, and so she vowed to help him out.  Before she left, she told him she would be back soon to visit and snapped a picture of him in his living room which turned out to be one of her favorite photos

On her next visit Leslie brought dinner and some extra homemade food she’d prepared for the week ahead.  Lawrence was grateful for the kind gesture and shared more of his life story with her. He told her that he’d suffered a stroke during the week and couldn’t really move his hands, but after 4 days he did visit the doctor for a check-up.

Leslie was worried about him he was clearly lonely and just needed someone to care and look in on him every now and then. She decided that from there on out, she would be that person and immediately began to make plans on what to do next.

Wishing to free up some space for him in the cramped house, she started picking up and going through all the trash that had accumulated.  Since Lawrence had terrible eyesight and limited mobility, getting the random junk out of the way and opening up some extra room made a world of a difference for him.  She also figured out what repairs he needed most on the home and vowed to get them done by the time summer was up.

Over the next couple of months she visited him every so often to check in, have dinner or a drink, and talk about life.  She accomplished all of the home improvement plans she’d made, and his home no longer looked abandoned anymore. When he told her that the day she showed up was the best day of his life, she couldn’t help but smile and agree because she felt the same, but vice-versa.

Meeting Lawrence gave her the opportunity to actually do something kind and helpful for someone, without expecting anything in return. In the end he was better off, and she felt good about it, so it was a win-win situation for them both.

Months went by and Lawrence’s health slowly deteriorated.  He was eventually unable to live on his own and so Leslie helped him find a retirement home where he now lives today.  She still makes time to go see him regularly, bringing along his favorite foods and her dog who he adores. She posted this story and shared her experience with the world in the hopes that other people will reach out to someone they haven spoken to in a while, it could make a world of difference.
