Scientists Are Warning People That This Type Of Milk Is Linked To Causing Cancer. I Had No Idea.
Do you remember those old “Milk. It does a body good” commercials and advertisements that used to be everywhere in the 80s? Back then milk was milk, it came from a cow and even if you hated it your mother forced you to choke a glass of it down!
These days milk is anything but straightforward and there are many different types beyond the traditional cow or goat’s milk on the market. People now have almond, hemp, rice, coconut, and soy milk varieties to choose from. Each has their own benefits and drawbacks, whether it’s the taste, price point, or the health benefits they provide. However, none has been more controversial than soy milk.
Soy milk is the number one most consumed type of soy-based food. Many lactose intolerant people use it as a milk substitute, vegans like it because they don’t want to drink milk produced by an animal, and some like it because it’s low in fat. While there are undoubtedly some nutritional benefits to soy milk, the negatives outweigh the positives.
Below is a sampling of the harmful effects soy has on your body and Dr. Josh Axe covers more points in the accompanying video. While you are free to decide what to put in your body, consider the reasons why soy milk is bad for your health before you drink another glass of it:
1) The majority of soybeans are genetically modified organisms (GMO)- According to statistics kept by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on the adoption of genetically engineered crops in America, 94% of soybeans were genetically modified in 2014 and 2015. This means the plants have had their DNA altered to make them herbicide tolerant so that they can be sprayed with Monsanto’s RoundUp, a pesticide product that kills weeds, and not be affected by the super toxic chemicals.
In effect, this has also made soybeans one of the most pesticide contaminated foods out there. There are many serious health risks posed by pesticides and herbicides to people, if you ingest them they can make you very sick.
2) Soy contains high levels of aluminum- Aluminum is believed to be a contributing factor to many degenerative brain diseases, such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, because it produces immense oxidative stress on our bodies. The toxic metal is absorbed and accumulates in our bone, liver, brain, and kidney tissue, which negatively impacts our entire body and the nervous system overall. In addition, soy based infant formula has been found to be worryingly high in aluminum and should be avoided whenever possible.
3) Soy contains isoflavones, biologically active compounds called phytoestrogens which look like estrogen and can thus activate estrogen receptors in the human body. Phytoestrogens can disrupt and depress thyroid function, alter normal estrogen levels, and interfere with endocrine function. They have also been causally linked to breast cancer in animal studies and an increase in levels of carcinogenic breast cells.
4) Soybeans contain anti-nutrients, including phytic acid- Anti-nutrients bind to minerals like calcium, iron, and zinc and makes them unavailable, or completely unusable, to our bodies. Phytic acid also inhibits digestive enzymes in our stomach and intestines, which may lead to problems and disruption.
5) Raw soybeans are poisonous- Soybeans must be cooked before eaten to eliminate the poisonous compounds found within them!

Man Cracks Eggs Into An Ice Cube Tray. The Reason Is Brilliant
Dairy products can be expensive so when they are on sale it’s wise to stock up on your favorites. While many dairy items do not keep long after being purchased or opened, there is a way to store and preserve your dairy stockpile. YouTube favorite HouseholdHacker explains that by freezing dairy products you can extend their shelf life and shows how to best go about doing it. Here is a breakdown of what works for common dairy items.
Milk can be frozen for 1-2 months and coffee creamer for up to 6 months. Thaw milk in the refrigerator for a day or two and be sure to shake it up before using because it will have separated. Cheese is a bit more difficult to freeze because the texture can be affected. While most cheese is freezable, Parmesan works best, and shredded cheese is the way to go because blocks tend to get dry and crumbly.
Shredded cheese can be stored for 2-3 months, then thaw it out in the refrigerator before using and that should help retain its original texture. Salted butter can last 6-8 months if wrapped well and unsalted only a month. Make sure there is nothing in the freezer with a strong smell or pungent odor because you risk having the butter pick it up and tasting like that.
Greek yogurt freezes well for a couple of months, then thaw it and stir well before enjoying. You can make yogurt pops by sticking a popsicle stick in the container top before freezing or pour the yogurt in an ice cube tray and use them in smoothies. Full fat cream cheese can be frozen but results vary when thawed as to texture depending on the brand you buy. Use it right away once it has been thawed in dips, sauces, and baked dishes.
Finally, eggs can be frozen by cracking one egg into each individual ice cube slot on the tray. After they freeze completely simply pop out of the tray, store in a freezer bag, and have them on hand for when a recipe calls for only one egg.

He Pours Milk Into A Bottle Of Coca-Cola. Minutes Later The Results Blew Me Away!
Most people have seen and are familiar with the Coca-Cola and Mentos reaction, but wait until you see what happens when you combine Coke and milk. The results are both stomach churning and fascinating at the same time. First, you open a plastic bottle of Coke and then add a small amount of milk to it, being careful to leave a little space between the top of the liquid and cap.
Secure on the bottle cap and gently agitate the liquid by moving it back and forth a few times. Now the wait begins. The entire process takes about an hour but make sure to watch it at 5 or 10 minute intervals to see the change take place. When it is all done you probably will not be craving a soda anytime soon!
So what is actually happening in this mini science experiment? The process is due to a reaction of the Coke’s phosphoric acid with the milk. The phosphoric acid molecules bind to the milk which gives them a higher density and causes them to separate out and eventually sink down, while the remaining liquid from the milk and Coke, being lighter, floats to the top.
Those solid particles you see are actually curdled milk. Because the soda is more acidic than the milk it causes it to separate into curds and lumps, aka the textbook definition of what it means to curdle. To better illustrate this, Coca-Cola’s pH is between 2.5-4.5 and milk’s pH level is almost neutral (7 being neutral) at around 6.7. Thus, the Coke’s higher acid content binds to the lower milk ones and causes them to separate.
Due to Coke having such a high acid content people have been using it for years as a cleaning agent. It can take tarnish and rust off metals and even degrease car engines. Add it to your toilette to get it sparkly clean or wash your laundry with it to remove stubborn stains. Better yet, if you or a pet ever get sprayed by a skunk, just pour Coke on the stinky spots and it should smell better almost instantly. The uses for Coke are many but one is a definite no-no and that would be mixing up a Coke-milk cocktail.
