image via – youtube.com
This video is called “The Special Proposal,” it was produced by Coordown. It features a man named Salvatore with Down syndrome asking the love of his life Caterina who also has Down syndrome if she will live with him. You are going to need some tissues for this one, it really pulls at all the heart strings!
He completely takes Caterina by surprise when he shows up at her work, with an a cappella group singing the song ‘Come Away With Me.’ When she turns around the look on her face melted my heart. Salvatore gets on one knee with a key to their new house and asks, “Would you come live with me, my love?”
This amazing moment, emphasizes the importance of giving the people with Down syndrome the right to live on their own. Many people with Down syndrome never get this opportunity, so hopefully this video will raise awareness and allow others who suffer from this syndrome to also live their dream of living independently.
Watch the video below and grab a tissue box you may need it! Enjoy!

14 Soldiers Had Their Pictures Taken Before, During, And After War. The Results Are Disturbing!

The ravages of war can be seen everywhere, both while it’s raging and long after the conflict has passed. The destruction and harm that’s inflicted on property, buildings, the landscape, families, people’s lives, and so much more ends up devastating and destroying vast areas and cities.
It’s a fact that the effects of war change people, how could it not? Bearing witness to shocking acts of brutality and seeing pain and suffering being inflicted, day after day until you’re numb to it, would profoundly impact a person. That’s part of why a significant amount of our nations Veterans end up suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other types of traumatic brain injuries.
The long term mental, emotional, and spiritual repercussions of war are hard to describe and even harder to ascertain or begin to fully understand. Perhaps that is why these photographs of soldiers taken before, during, and after tours of duty in Afghanistan are so powerful.
The men’s faces stare back starkly at the viewer and convey so much feeling and emotion, yet at the same time there is something missing and haunting about all of them. The physical changes across the board are surprising and revealing all at once. The men turn from normal and carefree looking to stressed, gaunt, hardened soldiers.
However, it’s the eyes that show the most emotion and pain, and they reveal the true costs that war has on people. The pictures were captured by British photojournalist Lalage Snow while she was based in Afghanistan back in 2010. She was on assignment and had followed the lives and experiences of a group of soldiers from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
Snow spent a period of seven months documenting the soldiers who had been deployed to Afghanistan on a mission to help train the new Afghan Army. The first picture she took of each man was done before they were sent abroad and while they were still in the UK.
The second photo was taken after the men had spent 3 months in Afghanistan on the battlefield, and the third final photograph was taken just three days after they had returned home. The series of portraits, along with interviews of the men, comprise Snow’s “We Are The Not Dead” Project.
Her goal for the work was to not only honor the soldier’s bravery, but to also shed light on the mental and emotional wounds that war leaves behind on those who serve their countries.
Not every injury is physical and more needs to be done all around to help veterans returning from combat.

This Baby Was Stolen From His Mother. Now Watch His Response When He’s Rescued!
image via – youtube.com
Orangutans seem to be coming up a lot lately in social media. Probably because they are unbelievably adorable, but also because they are in need of help often due to their impending extinction. Organizations in Borneo and Sumatra are working hard to care for and protect the rapidly dwindling population of orangutans in Indonesia.
These rehab centers are reaching out to all over the world for support in their efforts to keep the apes alive and thriving. The decline in the species is due completely to human activities. Deforestation due to palm oil harvesting has imposed on the health of orangutans by destroying their habitat.
The apes are also hunted for profitable re-sale and the novelty of consumption. Because orangutans are very bonded to their mothers as babies, their capture is typically achieved by the murder of the protective mother, hence removing two individuals from the population at a time.
The baby orangutan in this video, named Rickina, is being nurtured by the IAR Ketapang Orangutan Rescue Center in Borneo. Rickina was confiscated from a man who claimed her mother was so startled by his presence in the rain forest that she ran away from her baby. Lies. He picked up the baby and in doing so, somehow slashed a gaping wound in her head with his machete.
Sounds like an innocent accident, right? Support orangutan conservation by pledging to Orangutan Outreach via their website: http://redapes.org/adopt

She Sings A Lullaby To This Sick and Blind Baby. His Reaction Tore My Heart Up!
The bond between an animal and their human can be incredibly strong, resilient, and beautiful. We often think of our pets as an extension of ourselves and wouldn’t hesitate to give them anything they may need, especially when they are not feeling well. Such was the case of a woman and her pot-bellied pig.
Bentley, a nine month old pig who was rescued, suffered a sudden seizure at the end of February. His owner immediately took him to the vet for medical attention where he was diagnosed with a potentially fatal infection, bacterial meningitis. Chances of his survival were slim, only 10%, yet the little piggy soldiered through the sickness even though it left him blind.
Bentley survived, but he is still recovering in the hospital and his wounds have yet to heal completely. Every day his loving human companion takes a trip to the hospital to visit and hold him close. Realizing how scary and confusing a hospital must be for a little blind pig, she sings to him while snuggling and comforting the pig as if he were a baby.
The tender moment is both heartwarming and sad all at once to witness. The pig clearly finds the song and human touch soothing as he nuzzles up closer to the woman and responds affectionately towards her. The two share a loving connection that is stronger than ever and lovely to see.
Bentley has since recovered and even regained his vision back. He endured multiple surgeries and months of care at the vet, which was made possible by donations from hundreds of people across the world. He currently lives at E.A.R.T.H. Sanctuary and Rescue in Illinois alongside other animals who have been rescued and need care or a home. E.A.R.T.H stands for every animal deserves respect, transformation, and hope, which is the programs goal and mission.
The sanctuary takes in any animals that were abused, neglected, or unwanted and works to rehabilitate and advocate on their behalf. Thanks to their efforts Bentley received the care and attention he so desperately needed and pulled thorough, surviving the odds that were against him every step of the way.

This Guy Calls Her Fat At The Buffet. But How The Other People React Is Unexpectedly Epic!
image via – youtube.com
There are all shapes and sizes of people in this world and not one type is better than another. We are all just humans living our lives however we choose to and no person has any right to judge another based on their habits or preferences. There are people who are very health conscious and work hard to stay in shape by exercising and eating well, and while some people make their health a lesser priority, neither is superior.
People can be overweight or slim for various reasons. Genetic make-up in combination with lifestyle habits are what determine how a person’s body is built. Just because someone is skinny, does not mean that they are healthy and vice versa. There are plenty of thin people who eat terrible food and stay little because of their metabolisms. Likewise, there are a lot of overweight people who eat nutritious, whole foods but retain their weight due to slower systems of their body.
This video clip from the show What Would You Do proves that most people are advocates for freedom of choice. Several of the customers present for the taunting of overweight females at a buffet style restaurant stood up for the harmless women when they were insulted regarding their size and eating habits.
The prevailing opinion was that the women are welcome to eat however they like and that the number of times they fill their plate is no one else’s business.
