THIS Is The Strange Reason Why If You Spot a Centipede In Your House You Shouldn’t Ever Step On It
image via – youtube.com
Your home is supposed to be your sanctuary, a place where you can relax, unwind, and kick off your shoes. However, any sense of tranquility is easily shattered if you’ve ever spotted a house centipede crawling around your personal space. If you’re blissfully unaware of what a house centipede looks like, prepare to be enlightened.
The hideous looking creatures have what appear to be like a hundred legs, but according to Wikipedia there are actually only 15 pairs of legs, the key word being pairs! All of these long sets of legs stick out from their inch or longer bodies and to top it all off they have an extra long pair of antennae that makes them look way bigger than they actually are. They are downright ugly and unless you’re a fan of creepy crawlies, then you likely won’t enjoy these things running around your house.
Speaking of running, they are super fast so all of those spindly legs aren’t for nothing! Oftentimes people spot them because they suddenly dart out from whatever dark corner or crack they were hiding in. The sight is jarring and naturally your first instinct is to squash the sucker dead, but killing the bugs is precisely what you should NOT do! As odd as it sounds, once you know the reasons why they should be left alone, you’ll understand that it’s ultimately for the greater good.
First off, house centipedes are like tiny little pest controllers. They hunt out and kill other bugs that are invading your house and their appetites know no boundaries. They will eat spiders, moths, roaches, flies, silverfish, and even termites which can be a very damaging and expensive pest to have around your home. They themselves do not cause any structural damage, if anything the sight of them may take an emotional toll on you, but that’s it. Best of all, they’re a natural alternative to harsh chemical bug deterrents and they cost absolutely nothing.
Next, they are considered harmless to humans. They are more likely to run away from you rather than towards you, plus they’re mainly active at night time so you probably won’t ever even see them. While they do have poisonous venom, which they use to kill all those other bugs, their mouths and jaws are usually not big or strong enough to penetrate our skin.
However, on extremely rare occasions they have succeeded in biting a person and the effect is comparable to that of a bee sting. Minor redness, pain, and swelling may accompany it, but the chances of you getting munched on by one would be like winning the lottery or being killed by a shark; it’s just not going to happen.
Finally, if the thought of centipedes crawling through your home is too much for you to bear, simply take preventative measures to keep them out. Seal any cracks or places where they could possibly get in and keep all areas, especially basements and garages, damp-free and as dry as possible. You can leave sticky tape traps to catch them or call a professional pest controller in, but they really shouldn’t be a major issue unless you have an infestation or a severe phobia of bugs with a million legs!

Guy Just Moved Into a New House But He Is Completely Stunned By This Strange Surprise Underneath His Basement!
image via – youtube.com
You never know what you’re going to get when you buy an old house. You can hire experts, appraisers, and inspectors in to evaluate it, but even they can easily miss stuff. When it comes down to it, old houses only reveal their secrets after you move in and start poking around.
One man found this to be true after he bought an old home and noticed something strange. He was on his way down the cellar stairs when he noticed something that just didn’t seem to fit off to the side. Where the wall should have been was a piece of plywood and when he pulled at the corner of the wood it lifted slightly off the wall.
He caught a glimpse of a gap behind it and decided to investigate further. Once he had removed the plywood, he found himself staring into an old room that had been sealed off years ago by the previous owner.
Inside the room were a bunch of boxes and a locked safe. Inside the boxes he found ammunition and live rounds. Box after box he went through and found so much ammunition that it could have easily taken out a small army! Working carefully, he tried to get into the safe but was unable to and so he kept sorting through all the boxes.
That’s when he spotted a grenade laying in the corner of a metal box that was packed with bullets. As the man examined it, he noticed something that made the hair stand up on his arm; there was no pin in the grenade!
Before he ran out of there and called the bomb squad, the man decided to take a closer look. He realized that the powder had been emptied from the grenade via a small hole that had been filed in the bottom. At this point the man needed to know everything that was in the hidden room in case it posed a threat to his life and health. The next box he opened wasn’t nearly exciting, it contained a bunch of pennies and loose change, which was fine by the man.
After going through the rest of the boxes he turned his attention to the safe that he couldn’t crack open. He decided to at least give it one more try and this time around he used heavy duty tools to help him out. When that didn’t work, he had no choice but to cut the door off it. When he finally peered inside, he found a space containing no money, weapons, or jewels, it was empty. All that there was, was a lone spider hanging from its web!
Even though he was disappointed at his lack of an exciting find, the man didn’t let the hidden room and safe go to waste. Instead, he cleaned it all out and converted the space into a storage room for his own stuff. Now it’s more of a wine cellar than a bunker and he keeps beer and liquor down in the cool dark room.
While he’ll never know what the previous owner was really up to with all that ammunition, at the very least he should be glad he didn’t find a dead body down there.

In 1951 He Rescued 2 Girls From a Fire! 65-Years Later THIS Lady Bangs On His Door!
image via – youtube.com
There are some things that happen in life which are seemingly so random and unbelievable that it’s hard to explain or make any sense of them. Oftentimes we attribute them to random acts of god or miracles, and yet perhaps these events were fated or destined to happen all along. For the people and events in this amazing story, they believe it’s a mixture of all those things and more.
It began one fateful day on December 20, 1951, in St. John’s Newfoundland. Twelve year old Edward “Kip” Malone was out walking to the store because his mother had sent him to get some butter when he noticed that a house was on fire. He heard a woman screaming for help and shouting for someone to save her children who were trapped somewhere in the building.
Without hesitation, Malone headed straight for the door and inside the burning house. There was thick smoke everywhere, but he soon found a little girl on the stairs. He tried to get her to go but she resisted because she said that she wouldn’t leave without her sister who was still somewhere inside. Malone and the girl searched frantically for the missing child and when they were in a bedroom, he heard a voice telling him to sweep his hand under the bed. That was when he found the other little girl hiding and now that he had both children, he hurried them outside to safety as the house burned wildly out of control.
When it was over, the five and three year old girls were okay, but their grandmother sadly perished in the fire. Malone later learned that the girls had six other siblings who, along with their parents, all lived in the house. Since the house was a total loss, the family moved away, and he never saw or heard about them again.
Time went on and over the years Malone often thought about the two girls he’d saved that fateful day. He didn’t know what had happened to them, but 65 years later he soon found out. He and his wife had recently bought a new house and had just moved in when a neighbor came over and introduced herself to them. Her name was Margaret Fowler and after they started talking it didn’t take long for them to discover that Malone and the woman had grown up near each other.
When Margaret told him about how she’d lived on Central Street, the same street where he’d rescued the girls all those years ago, he told her about the fire and what he’d done. As the words came out of his mouth, Margaret nearly fainted, then she told him that she was one of the little girls he had saved that day!
A week later, Margaret brought her little sister Barbara Earle to meet up with Malone for a proper introduction. All of them believe that the long overdue reunion can be attributed to divine intervention and the women say that Malone is their guardian angel of sorts. Both ladies have very little recollection of the fire and events that happened that day, as over the years they found it too painful to ask their mother and father about what had happened. Earle didn’t even know Malone had saved her life and feels nothing but gratitude for what he did sixty years ago.

The Floor In Her Basement Collapsed Out of No Where! But Then a Hidden Secret Is Revealed Under It!
image via – youtube.com
Dealing with the division of property after a loved one passes is always a difficult yet frustratingly necessary part of death. There are so many assets to organize and distribute that the recipients sometimes forget the true value of the objects in relation to the passed love one. One woman was involved in one such process. However, in the midst of it, she discovered an incredible secret!
When Alexandra’s mother passed away, she was drawn back to her childhood home. She knew she didn’t want to move in as she was already happy living in her own place. She also wasn’t entirely emotionally ready to sell it either. She decided to compromise. She rented the home out and only stopped by occasionally to do repairs and just generally check in on the place.
It was on one of these such visits that Alexandra noticed something odd. The floor in the basement was in terrible shape. She hired some contractors to fix it up. While they were working, a hole formed in the floor. They called Alexandra down to look at it. She gasped when she looked inside.
Alexandra had always heard whispers that her house was a part of the underground railroad. She had always suspected it might be true, but she never had any proof. Seeing the hole, Alexandra finally had the proof. The contractors asked her if she wanted to fill the hole. She refused and actually installed a door over it. She plans to eventually give tours of it. How lucky that she was able to find such a beautiful gift from her mother how had passed.

Guy Is Completely Stunned When His Driveway Suddenly Collapses But Then a Hidden Secret Room Is Revealed!
image via – youtube.com
When you own your own house, you have to fix any problems that pop up, especially ones that are of major immediate concern. A water pipe or heater breaking can’t be left for a rainy day and a huge gaping hole in your driveway should also be checked out asap. Such was the case for Simon Marks, a computer support worker from Luton, England.
He was simply backing out of driveway one Saturday afternoon when the front tire of his car suddenly became stuck on something. The whole thing lurched forward and when he got out to inspect what had happened, he immediately noticed that his driveway had a large hole in it. The strange gap had seemingly opened up out of nowhere and after freeing his car from it he had a closer look.
Upon inspection he noticed that the hole appeared to be quite large and deep, cavernous even. For a moment he thought perhaps it was a sinkhole that could possibly swallow up his house, but the closer he examined the hole, the more it looked like he’d stumbled upon something else entirely. Needing to know what really lay beneath his driveway, he began removing the cracked cement slab and dirt. What he found underneath was what appeared to be an old rusted ladder poking up from the mud.
Simon found it very odd that there would be a ladder in his driveway. He’d bought the house from an old couple who were the original owners and the property records showed it had been nothing but empty land before being built. Even still, there was definitely something underneath his driveway that the ladder was leading down into.
Simon had called his father Gerald to come over and when he arrived, the two of them got to digging. They soon both agreed on what Simon had most likely found; an air raid shelter from World War II. Slowly but steadily they removed bucket after bucket of mud from the hole and a room slowly emerged. Soon they were able to crouch in the space and that’s when they discovered that there was a door which led to another room!
After researching the bomb shelter, they realized that there had been quite a few built in the area. This one had likely been built after a German bomb had landed nearby and after a well preserved newspaper was found in the shelter, it seemed to confirm their hunch.
They later surmised that after the war the shelter had been filled in with dirt before the house was then built, with the driveway right over the doorway. When the hinges eventually rusted and crumbled away, the door fell into the shelter which weakened the concrete covering. The final straw was when Simon drove over it with his car and caused the concrete to collapse, leading to his awesome discovery.
