Neglected Circus Tiger Was Put In a Tiny Rusty Cage For 12 Years. Now Watch When He’s Freed.
A tiny rusty old cage is no place for any wild animal to live, let alone a full grown tiger. Sadly, that’s exactly where a beautiful tiger named Hoover was forced to live his life as part of a traveling circus in Peru.
While the details of Hoover’s early life remain mostly unknown, it’s believed that he was originally part of a group of 6-12 tigers that the circus used in their shows. By the time his rescuers got to him, he was the last remaining one. Over the past twelve years of his life he had been mistreated, abused, and forced to perform tricks. When he wasn’t being openly exploited he was kept locked up in a cramped cage day in and day out, always on the move. He needed help fast or he would die.
Life was anything but natural and comfortable for Hoover. His captors brought him from one town to the next where he was allowed out only for shows. His cage was completely inadequate for such a large, majestic tiger and barely allowed him any room to move around. He spent the days pacing back and forth in the hot, dusty, stale air with nothing to stimulate his mind or play with. All he had was a dusty floor to lay on that was surrounded by metal bars and dirt. There was no real shelter overhead to protect him from the elements and the neglectful state he was held in was horrendous.
The circus that Hoover was found with had been on the run for eight months before authorities caught up with them. For years a number of travelling circuses had operated in Peru using wild animals in their shows. The country recently changed the law and passed a circus animal ban in response to widespread cruelty, abuse, and sub-par conditions in which most circus animals were kept. The ban made it illegal to keep or use animals in circus shows and authorities have been working alongside animal advocacy non-profits, like Animal Defenders International (ADI), to strictly enforce it. Thanks to a tip from the public they’d received, ADI was able to stage a surprise raid on the circus and recover Hoover.
They immediatley took him to their resuce center in Peru and threw open the cage door to let him out and taste freedom for the first time. This video captures the moment he was finally released from his life of abuse and neglect. For the first time in perhaps all of his 12 years he was able to fully stretch out and do the one action that all cats seem to love! After his stretch he cautiously headed through the door and out into the temporary holding pen, where he stepped onto soft green grass. The grass on the bottom of his paws must have felt so strange and yet wonderful.
The veterinarians at ADI checked him out and found he was sick and emaciated. After months of rehab the big tiger was restored back to full health and once he was given the all clear, he was ready to head to his new forever home at Big Cat Rescue (BCR) in Florida. Getting a full grown tiger from Peru to America is no small operation. It took a full year before the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service finally gave its approval and only then did Hoover’s road trip begin. The journey involved multiple trucks and transfers before he was secured into a cargo plane for the final leg of his trip. Vets and caretakers monitored his health closely to ensure he was safe and comfortable every step of the way.
When he finally touched down and arrived at the BCR facility he was released into his new enclosure to check it all out. His new habitat is worlds away from the cramped barren cage he was held in, it’s filled with an abundance of plants, trees, grasses, and other greenery. There’s also platforms to rest on in the sunshine and a lake to swim and cool off in on the premises. Hoover will live out the rest of his life at BCR where he’s free to wander about his new habitat completely unchained. He no longer faces a life full of uncertainty and constant travel, there are no more people gawking at him, or trainers abusing him. Instead, he finally has the chance to spend his final years among other tigers, in the wild where he’s protected and able to move about on his own, and that is beautiful.

How To Tell If You Are Having a Stroke, Cardiac Arrest or a Heart Attack.

2. Stroke: A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is blocked. This happens when a blood vessel becomes clogged or bursts, which can either completely obstruct or severely reduce the flow of blood to the brain. Symptoms- Blurred vision, severe headache, vomiting loss of coordination, trouble walking, dizziness, excessive sweating numbness, mental confusion, trouble with speaking, face/arm/leg numbness and in particular on one side of the body.
3. Cardiac Arrest: Cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly stops beating. This happens when the electrical impulse activity in the heart, which is what keeps it beating and contracting, is disrupted unexpectedly. With no heartbeat, no blood reaches the brain or any other organs, causing the person to pass out. Without immediate treatment, the person will die within a matter of minutes.
Symptoms- The following symptoms will often occur in the minutes leading up to a cardiac arrest incident, as well as during and immediately following loss of consciousness: shortage of breath, gasping for air, shallow breaths and/or trouble breathing, weakness, chest pain, sudden collapse, weak pulse, absence of breath, fainting, blacking out, no response, no pulse.

5 Things You Should Avoid Completely During Mercury Retrograde From August 30 – September 22, 2016
Brace yourselves because Mercury is about to go retrograde for the third time again this year! It all starts on August 30th and will last through September 22. During that time period we can expect disruptions in the main areas that Mercury controls, which includes travel, communications, and learning. But first, here’s a little clarity on what it all means when someone says something along the lines of Mercury being retrograde.
Chances are you’ve heard it countless times before but when someone mentions that “[planetary body X] is in retrograde” do you know what it actually means? The answer is quite simple, it means that the planet will appear to move backwards in its orbit through the sky!
In the most basic terms retrograde is defined as “directed or moving backward,” in the Online Oxford Dictionary. Astronomy and astrology use the word to encompass how all the planets appear to be moving around the sun as compared and relative to the Earth. As such, a planet which is said to be in retrograde will appear to be moving backwards, as if it’s going in the wrong direction, even though it’s not. A point of comparison is that we’re used to planets and their satellites moving in direct, aka prograde, motion from west to east. That type of path through the sky appears normal, it’s what’s expected, and so we don’t bug out nearly as much when Mercury is prograde.
So why does Mercury being in retrograde have such an effect on people? According to astrologers Mercury controls our travel and movement, our ability to think rationally and clearly, veracity and the truth. When it enters a retrograde period and appears to go backwards, all of the things it controls also seem to go in reverse. It’s from this inverse movement that the things in our lives related to truth, travel, and comprehensive thinking get all disrupted and turned upside down. To lessen the effects of this upcoming Mercury retrograde, here are some things that you’d be wise to hold off on or avoid doing all together if possible:
1. Don’t buy big ticket, expensive items!
Oftentimes issues arise with the pricey goods and gadgets that consumers end up purchasing during retrograde periods. Perhaps the bargain is too good to pass up, and it later turns out that’s because the item is broken or defective in some way. It’s best to hold off until later to spend your money and a good rule of thumb to follow is don’t buy unless you absolutely must. For those unavoidable purchases make sure you get something from a reputable seller that is either guaranteed, insured, registered, under warranty, or whatnot. Save the receipt, packaging, and paperwork as well in case you do in fact end up needing it!
2. Don’t ignore your finances!
No one enjoys going over bills and loans but if you’ve been putting off checking your accounts and all that good stuff lately, then do it now. During Mercury retrograde our minds and brains tend to be more willing and able to go over and examine any financial information that needs reviewing. Whether you need to refinance or pay off a loan, plan a budget, balance your checkbook, it will all be easier to get done when Mercury is in retrograde.
3. Don’t switch careers or begin a new job!
While landing a new job is exciting and opportunity is hard to pass by, you may be better off pushing it back or declining it all together. Mercury retrograde has a peculiar way of messing things up. Even the most routine, expected, seemingly fair things get turned upside down and this is especially true in the realm of employment. Maybe your new boss will turn out to be unbearable, you won’t get the benefits or pay expected, the work load will break you, the company will fold a couple of months later, there’s lots that could go wrong so try to avoid starting a new job at this time and wait for Mercury to be prograde again!
4. Don’t travel!
As if traveling isn’t already a huge pain in the neck, during Mercury retrograde it’s ten times worse. There’s often a noticeable uptick in the amount of delays, cancellations, lost bags, reservation mix-ups, and missed flights or connections. Whether you plan on traveling by plane, car, train, or bus, expect service interruptions of any and all kinds. Mercury has a strong connection with travel so when it goes backwards it sends even the best laid travel plans haywire. If you absolutely must travel, you’d be wise to have your itineraries and alternative plans in order. Get travelers insurance if possible and triple check all the times, details, and reservations you’ve made.
5. Don’t sign a contract or close on a sale!
During Mercury retrograde the way people think and comprehend things becomes altered. They may be all for signing on the dotted line when it comes time to close, but soon afterwards they will be questioning their decision and re-thinking all the options. They may try to get out of it all together or breach their duty and leave you taking a big hit. In case there is no way around entering into a contract, be extra careful no matter who you may be dealing with.
