We all know someone who has to have the latest and greatest gadget on the market. For some it’s the fastest computer, others drool over the most advanced smart TV, but the one thing that people really go nuts for are cell phones. It seems that consumers can’t get enough when it comes to smart phones and every year companies roll out ever more technologically advanced models.
For years the iPhone led the pack as the most sought after cell phone in the world and people were lining up to buy the newly released versions. While the frenzy has died down quite a bit, the Apple brand still has loyal, die-hard fans who will only buy iPhones. One extreme example of this comes from the Chinese news media who ran a story about a man named Wang, also called Xiao Zheng little Jiang. Wang really, really wanted an iPhone, but his parents could not afford one, so he ended up taking drastic measures to get one instead.
In exchange for one of his kidneys the 17 year old Wang was given 22,000 Yuan, which in US dollars equals about $3,227, which was enough to buy the phone he wanted. The illegal deal and surgery were set up on the black market with some sketchy people he found online acting as middlemen. Unbeknownst to his parents or anyone else, he then travelled to a location in the Hunan Province where he met a surgeon and had his kidney removed. On the way back he bought the iPhone 4 he so desperately wanted plus an iPad 2, and he thought that things seemed to be going well.
However, shortly after the surgery Wang’s health took a turn for the worse. When he could no longer hide his declining health from his parents, they found out the shocking truth of what happened to him and immediately called the police. Upon investigating the police found that the operating theater where he had his surgery was not properly sanitized and carried out in an underground hospital, which led to him developing an infection in his one remaining kidney. Nine people who were involved in his surgery were arrested and jailed, while Wang and his family received 1.47 million Yuan ($214,130) in compensation.
Since then Wang’s health has only gotten worse. By the time he told his family about the illegal surgery and went to a hospital for proper treatment his remaining kidney had become severely infected. The damage was irreversible and without a kidney working to filter his blood he had to be placed on permanent dialysis. Now he is 25 years old and bed ridden, hooked up permanently to a dialysis machine, while his parents spend all their money on his treatment. It goes without saying that no tech device is worth an organ or risking your life for. While Wang’s story is sad, it’s also a cautionary tale for teenagers who want the latest and greatest, no matter the cost.

It’s well known that young children love to stick things where they don’t belong. They’ll put random things in their mouths, up their noses, or in their ears without thinking twice about what they’re even doing. Think about it, just about everyone has a story from early childhood about how either they or someone they know got a Lego or M&M stuck up their nose!
Usually when something gets stuck its very temporary, the object eventually works its way out on its own, and in the end it turns out to be harmless. However, there are times when a child needs professional help and for a young boy named Louis King that was the case.
According to Louis, he had been playing around when he stuck a pencil in his ear. Part of it broke off and became lodged deep inside, but he neglected to even mention this to his mother for a full week! Naturally, his mother was concerned and rushed him immediately to the doctor.
After hearing Louis’s story and examining him the doctor began the process of extracting what he believed to be was a pencil. However, the doctor soon realized that the object stuck in the young child’s ear was not what he had been telling them. Instead of finding a pencil fragment, he found a watch battery!
The battery was so deep that Louis’s eardrum had completely disappeared. Thankfully eardrums recover and come back over time but if the battery had not been removed it could have caused hearing loss, pain, and infection.
In the end, Louis fully recovered and learned to not stick anything in his ears again. It’s still unknown how or why he decided to hide a watch battery in his ear, but that’s just kids for you!

Watch as he demonstrates this holding position, that he illustrates on several crying babies. He holds the baby in a 45 degree angle (protecting the neck), and secures their arms on their chest with his hand. With his other hand under the baby’s bottom, he shows different gentle rocking motions which instantly soothes the child.
The parents cannot believe their eyes or ears, for that matter! He demonstrates the technique several times, so that you will be able to follow it easily. What a lovely doctor he is; he doesn’t say exactly why this works but I have a theory…I think the position mimics the baby’s experience in the womb.

As bad as it looks, dark coloration or Black Hairy Tongue, is not dangerous. It is a sign of very poor dental hygiene, that results in an overgrowth of tongue papillae (“hair”) that traps bacteria. As disgusting as it looks, it is easily remedied by improving dental hygiene.

A White or Powdery looking tongue means the same thing as Black or Yellow Tongue; bacteria stuck in dense tongue hair due to poor oral hygiene. The causes may be the same as well: dry mouth, smoking, or a yeast infection which can come from antibiotics, all contribute to the tongue’s ability to fight bacteria that get stuck in the papillae.

A Pale or Yellow Tongue may also indicate low hemoglobin or problems in the lungs or colon. This symptom should be checked by a physician.

Small Cracks are usually a sign of aging, while White Patches are mouth irritations that often appear on the bottom of the tongue. More commonly found in smokers, these lesions should be checked by an oral surgeon, who will determine if biopsy is indicated to rule out cancer. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Small Red Lumps should be examined immediately, as they could be indicative of oral cancer. You shouldn’t think twice about seeing an oral surgeon for biopsy.

If you have ever suffered from Vertigo then you know exactly how seriously scary it can be. It’s called the ‘half somersault maneuver’ because it involves a series of highly specific movements and poses.

Below are the sequence of movements that a half somersault maneuver requires in short-list form:
1. Start by kneeling comfortably on the floor.

3. Bring your head down to the floor and place it upside down, as if you are about to do a somersault.
4. Turn your head to face your left elbow. Stay in this position until the feelings of dizziness or spinning dissipate.
5. Bring your head up so that it’s level with your back. Again, hold this position until the feelings of dizziness disappear.
6. Finally, sit back and settle into the original position you started at.

She Had Been Giving Birth To Her Baby. But The Obstetrician Was Behaving Really Weird and Then They Saw His Feet!

Giving birth is probably the most intense and painful experience any woman goes through during their lifetime. This brings us to today’s story which features a pregnant woman named Alex Simms hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada and works as a pre-school teacher. Alex was in her 9th month of pregnancy and she was practically exploring out of her belly. Her water broke and it was time to rush to the hospital because the big moment had finally arrived!
She got to the hospital as fast as she could because she knew her baby which she decided to name Jared was mere moments from leaving the womb! The doctors told her they were going to induce her into Labor but, because the birth showed serious signs of complications they were now opting for a C-Section.
In addition to all the complications expectant mom Alex was experiencing the doctor who she had been seeing during her entire pregnancy wasn’t even there because he was on a family trip! This really raised her anxiety and stress level! When the new and random doctor on call walked into the room something just seemed off about him. Alex and her mom who was going to be with her the whole time during the birth even caught a whiff of alcohol on his breath!
He was clearly tipsy because he had just left a bar thinking his day was over, but then he got called in. He told his nurse what had happened and she jokingly asked him what kind of alcohol he had to leave at the table. They both had a good chuckle then entered the labor room.
As they are prepping for the birth, you can hear her again on a video asking him if it was vodka. He replies as if nothing strange is happening, nope it was tequila! Keep in mind this was all done in front of his patient Alex and her mother!
Now they were super freaked what they saw next when they looked down at his feet sent them over the edge!
