After You Watch This You Will Never Microwave Your Potatoes Again! I’m So Glad I Learned THIS
image via: facebook.com
Potatoes are among the most popular and versatile food items that are readily available at any local grocery store. Just like rice, corn, and wheat, they rank among the world’s top grown crops and consumed foods.
A simple potato can be transformed and prepared lots of different ways. They can be served hot or cold and people love them mashed, baked, fried, hashed, steamed, and chipped, yet the one downside to them is that it often takes a long time to thoroughly cook a potato.
One of the easiest and most basic ways to cook a potato is by poking a few holes in the skin and tossing it in the microwave. Press the “Potato” button and minutes later it’s done. While that’s the fastest way to cook a spud, it’s definitely not the tastiest. Oftentimes the skin and flesh gets rubbery or becomes kind of mealy and it’s just not the same as a slowly cooked, oven baked potato.
Instead of zapping them, try cooking a bunch of them at once in a slow cooker. In the end it’s just as easy as microwaving, but the potatoes will turn out much more delicious. Everyone’s favorite, the YouTube extraordinaire OnePotChefShow, shows how it’s done in this quick and easy to follow video.
Start by washing and scrubbing a few potatoes and prepare them by cutting off any little sprout marks. Prick a few holes in the skin with a fork before lightly brushing on a coating of olive oil. Sprinkle on some salt and tightly wrap each one up individually in tinfoil.
Toss them all in a slow cooker, place the lid on, and cook for 7-8 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high. While they’re cooking you’re free to go about your day and when you get back the potatoes will be done.
The insides will be evenly cooked, fluffy, and tender, and you can eat the right away since they’ll be warm and ready. Try this almost effortless cooking method the next time you’re having potatoes for dinner.
Plus, if you need to shave minutes off a dinner prep time, cook the potatoes ahead of schedule and free up a lot of valuable oven space.

He Places Potatoes and Ketchup Into A Crock Pot. But When He’s Done YUM!
Slow cookers make preparing delicious, home cooked meals so easy they’re practically effortless! Instead of having to bang around the kitchen making all of the separate components that most dishes call for, you just mix up a few basic ingredients and then combine them all together in the pot. Set the timer, put the lid on, and you’re good to go!
While many traditional recipes have been pared down and honed specifically for crock pot cooking, this easy meatloaf one retains all of its classic ingredients. Make this soon and you won’t be disappointed! The sweet, savory aroma will greet you when you walk in the door and dinner will be ready, warm, and waiting. What more could you ask for? Everything you’ll need is listed below and directions on how to prepare the slow cooked meatloaf follow:
5 potatoes, 2 pounds of ground beef, ½ pound hot Italian turkey sausage with casings removed, 1 large onion, 2 eggs, 1 ½ cup ketchup, divided in half (so that you have two ¾ cups of it), ¾ cup crushed crackers, butter-flavored, 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar, 2 teaspoons salt, ½ teaspoon yellow mustard, black pepper, to taste
Start by peeling the potatoes. Cut them into 2-inch chunks and place them in the bottom of a large crock pot. Mix together the beef, sausage, onion, eggs, cracker crumbs, ¾ cup of ketchup, and salt in a separate bowl. Make sure to combine the ingredients together really well and then form them into the shape of a loaf. Add the loaf to the slow cooker, placing them directly on top of the potatoes!
Now combine and stir up the brown sugar, mustard, and remaining ¾ cup of ketchup. Spread the resulting sauce evenly across the top of the meat loaf before placing the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on the low setting for 6-10 hours, the time may vary depending on your crock pot. When the time is up simply drain any excess liquid from the pot and then serve!

The saying goes, “Presentation is Everything”, and that pretty much sums up this exquisite ‘Rigatoni Pie’. I Was Confused When She Put Peanut Butter In A Mixer. But When She’s Done A Delicious Surprise!
When it’s hot and sticky outside the last thing you want to do is spend time baking in the kitchen and making the house hotter than it already is. Instead, try whipping up a recipe that doesn’t require any cooking or heat at all. If you have a sweet tooth that needs satisfaction then this peanut butter pie is the answer.
It’s easy and simple to make and turns out a creamy, melt in your mouth, delicious treat that everyone will love to indulge in. The recipe can be made with creamy or chunky peanut butter and you can customize it by adding in other things such as crushed Oreo cookies or chocolate chips. Or you can switch up the type of pie crust you use and put other tasty toppings on it.
Best of all, you can make this dessert without ever having to put the oven on because it calls for freezing, so it’s perfect for these hot summer days. Start by combining one 8 ounce package of room temperature cream cheese with 1½ cups of confectioners sugar.
Blend them together with a mixer until smooth. Add in one cup of peanut butter and one cup of milk. Take the blender and beat the mixture until it’s smooth again. Next, add in one 16 ounce package of frozen whipped topping that has been thawed out and blend it in with a spatula.
Afterwards, spoon the mixture into 2 nine inch graham cracker pie crust/shells, cover, and freeze for about 2 hours or until firm. This peanut butter pie takes about 20 minutes to make and 2 hours to freeze.
Once you pop it in the freezer you can go about your day and come back to it later for a cool, creamy piece of pie. We just tried this and it came out perfect. This is the perfect tasty treat for any occasion! Watch the video below for a more detailed recipe. What are you waiting for? Treat yourself!
