There seems to always be a new con or scam being reported in the news. Criminals are constantly adapting their ways and trying different things in an effort to benefit themselves and cheat innocent people out of their hard earned money or possessions.
The creativity and ingenuity behind some of these tricks can be unbelievable, but usually it’s the simpler ones that people end up falling for. Police are sounding the alarm and trying to get the word out about one such scam involving a plastic water bottle.
Apparently, criminals will stick a regular old empty plastic water bottle in between a car tire and the wheel well. When the car owner turns their vehicle on and goes to drive, they’ll hear the water bottle breaking as it gets crushed, causing them to stop so they can investigate the terrible noise.
Part of the trick is placing the water bottle on the passenger side, so that when the driver gets out, they must go around the car to have a look. Not really thinking or expecting to be held up for more than a brief moment, the driver more than likely will leave the car on when they exit.
That’s when the criminal springs into action, hopping into the driver’s seat and taking off. In a matter of seconds, a car can be stolen without the driver even knowing what really even happened. There are variations of this crime that involve a number of different items meant to distract the driver.
Sometimes money is placed under the windshield wipers or a random article of clothing is stuck on the front/rear windshield so that it blocks the driver’s view just enough to make them get out and move it. Most people are completely unsuspecting or unaware of these tricks and so think nothing of it until it happens to them.

Have You Ever Noticed THIS On The Bottom Of Your Water Bottle? THIS Is What It Means!

When it comes to quenching thirst, nothing works better than plain old water. Most of us carry some with us and toss a bottle of water into our bags or car and at work and home we drink from water coolers all the time. All of these water containers, jugs, and bottles are not created equally and some are made from plastics that may be harmful to your health.
If you want what’s best for you and your family you need to know which kinds are the safest and healthiest. The best and clearest way to determine if the plastic bottle you’re about to buy or use is safe or not is to look for the number on the bottle.
All plastic bottles are labeled somewhere with a number between 1 and 7, usually it’s located on the bottom. The number is surrounded by three arrows and it’s there to indicate what type of plastic the bottle is made out of. It’s important to know these numbers because some are better than others.
In the accompanying Howcast video Allegra goes over which ones are safe versus the more toxic types. She has a great tip on how to remember and differentiate the good from the bad with the saying: “1-2-4-5 stay alive, 3-6-7 straight to heaven.” This generally means that plastic bottles and containers numbered 1, 2, 4, and 5 are better, safer, and less toxic than the ones labeled with a 3, 6, or 7.
The safest and all around best way to avoid any of the potential harmful effects caused by plastics is to not use any plastic in the first place. Instead, try to use ceramic or glass containers whenever possible, especially to hold or store food and beverage products in.
Of course, it’s very difficult to completely remove all types of plastics from your life when they’re so widely used in this day and age. When you do use plastics, make sure it’s the types labeled 1, 2, 4, or 5, as well as those that are labeled BPA free.
BPA is a dangerous synthetic compound that is highly carcinogenic and often used in many plastics. Because it’s so common lots of plastic water bottles and containers have BPA in them, so try to avoid those at all costs.
The next time you pick up a bottle of water or go to buy some at the store, make sure to check the number on it first. Please pass this information along so everyone knows to do the same. The more awareness we have, the better the choices we can make, and we can all stay as healthy as possible.

If you are a person who is conscious about reusing items through recycling or composting, this video that you are about to watch below is for you. Although there are many health reasons not to refill plastic water bottles for drinking, they can be reused or or “repurposed” in order to conserve both energy and money.
The five hacks presented are so clever and useful. By cutting off the top of a water bottle he illustrates how to turn it into a funnel to be used for any number of purposes, indoors and outdoors. He then shows how cutting off the bottom of a bottle can be used to make a measuring spoon.
The third hack is my personal favorite. By using toothpicks and a lighter, he shows how to turn the top of the water bottle into a pointed nozzle, which when placed on the bottle acts a fantastic dispenser for so many liquids around your home. Then watch how he makes a measuring cup, and last but not least, a laminated glass jar.
Let us know what you think about these creative hacks.

I Was Confused When He Put A Cherry On Top Of The Bottle. But The Reason Is Unexpectedly Brilliant
When he put the cherry on top of the bottle, I was confused. But when I saw what he did next, I was running to try it! Cherries are fantastic. Everyone loves them, they are the cherry on top of nature. They have one downfall that makes them aggravating, and it may be the only thing that stands in the way of complete cherry domination. Without the pit, the delicate balance of sweet and tart would be immediately available, and they would be cleaner than the renowned strawberry of legendary lore.
Take me to Japan in April, right at the height of the cherry blossoms, their magnificent pink-white petals sprawling from delicately manicured limbs as thin as glass. The scent of joyful perfection fills the air, as the petals’ twirling dance flirts with the breeze.
Ancient temples rise at impossible angles out of the sea of blooms, their curling roofs housing countless generations of fastidious monks, whose hands relay the attention given to their tree brethren.
But there is a remedy, decidedly simple, that can be utilized to abolish this infamous pit. You are likely going to want to grab yourself a bottle, chopsticks and a bunch load of cherries. Step one, grab a cherry. Step two, place upon the bottle your cherry.
Step three, poke that cherry with that stick. Step four, eat that cherry. You have now successfully demolished the single impediment that stood between you and the cherry palace. Congratulations.
