Does Your Eyes Ever Twitch? Doctors Say THIS Is What It Means!

A twitchy eye can be extremely annoying and uncomfortable. You’ve likely experienced it many times before and it always seems to come out of nowhere. One minute everything is fine and normal and seconds later it feels like your eye is about to jump out of the socket.
The nerve or muscle or whatever the heck it may be is spasming and shaking all around, making you squint and worry about what is actually going on in there. If you have ever wondered what is causing your eye to twitch and whether or not you should be worried about it, here is the answer.
There are several different types of eye twitching and each one is considered a separate condition from the rest. They are all caused by different things and the most common type, that you have likely experienced, is called eyelid twitching or myokymia.
The Mayo Clinic describes it as “affect[ing] only the eyelid. It can involve either the upper or lower lid, but only one eye at a time. The eye twitching can range from barely noticeable to bothersome. The twitching usually goes away within a short time but may recur over a few hours, days or longer.”
The twitching is caused by tiny muscles and nerves located around your eye. Just like any other muscle that suddenly spasms out of control, the ones in your eye can as well. There is nothing serious about this type of twitch and it’s relatively normal.
A less common type of twitch you should be worried about is called a blepharospasm, which is when a twitching in both of your eyelids gradually increases and worsens. It gets to a point where the intensity and strain of the twitching becomes too much and may even lead to near or complete blindness. However, this is a very rare occurrence and if it ever happens to you, see a doctor immediately.
While doctors and scientists have yet to agree on what exactly causes our eyelids to twitch, they have narrowed down some of the main factors that contribute to it. In the accompanying video Dr. Matthew Palmer, O.D., from the Southwestern Eye Center explains the basics about eye twitching and reassures us all that it isn’t a major health issue or concern.
In fact, it’s the opposite and normal, many people experience it throughout their lifetime. Here are a few basic things you can to to cut down on the frequency and severity of when it happens to you:
1) Relax and De-stress- The less stressed you feel, the less likely you are to end up experiencing an eye twitch. Stress is believed to be one of the main causes of myokymia and it’s also an aggravating factor which will make your twitch stronger and thus worse.
2) Get a Full Night’s Sleep- A lack of good, quality sleep can wreak havoc on your body, especially your eyes. Having to focus and re-focus a countless amount of times each day is hard on your eye muscles and they get fatigued just like any other muscle in your body. Not getting enough sleep also adds further stress to our lives and bodies, so rest your eyes and try to get as much sleep as possible.
3) Caffeine- If you really have eye twitch problems, cut the caffeine out of your diet because it can trigger them. Caffeine also causes our bodies to release serotonin and noradrenaline, two chemicals that stimulate and excite our nerves, which an lead to more frequent and severe eye spasms.
These three factors all contribute to eyelid twitching, but there may be other potential causes. If you have an eye twitch issue that is extremely annoying, frequent, and bothersome, there are medications that can help with it. Botox has also been shown to be effective at managing and controlling the muscles around the eye and can help with twitching.
However, most of the time the spasms will go away on their own and are not so severe that they greatly impact our quality of life. Finally, there are no neurological problems associated with a twitchy eyelid, so don’t worry about experiencing them or freak out when they happen.
It’s a normal occurrence and should pass in a few seconds or minutes.

Dad Overhears Something About His Son That Left Him In Tears. THIS Is His Response On Facebook!
image via – youtube.com
What you are about to view in the video below, is a father, Rob Scott, who needs to share his truth, after overhearing a moment between another father and his son. The child asks what Downs Syndrome is, and the dad answers, “It’s a disease of not knowing anything”.
This response deeply bothered Rob, whose son was born with Down’s Syndrome. What he experienced at that moment of hearing this other father try to probably simplify the condition for his child, was heartbreak. He desperately wanted to correct what this father was telling his son, but didn’t have the courage to speak up.
What you are about to hear him say was recorded a few minutes after this occurrence. Rob was upset with himself for not speaking up, and felt the strong need to record what was in his heart, as a way of standing up for his son who has been the greatest gift of his life.
His intention in recording this footage, was in no way motivated by a desire to shame the father who responded to his son’s innocent question in that way; he just needed “to karmically reset what just happened”. Rob’s son, Turner, has been the greatest teacher about what the meaning of joy and love truly is.
He so aptly notes that the word “disability” is a term that encapsulates perception rather than fact. His words brought me to tears; what he has to say is about so much more than Downs Syndrome. Let us know your thoughts about this father’s moment of soul-searching honesty.

She Got Home Happy After A Date. Then Posted This On Facebook 2 Hours Later? She Was Found Dead!
image via – youtube.com
Amber Cornwell wrote this on her Facebook page: “If I die tonight, would anyone cry?” This update appeared just hours before her parents found her hanging in her closet! She was pronounced dead at the scene. In the video you are about to watch below, her heartbroken parents speak out.
Amber had been bullied mercilessly for years; despite her parent’s belief that her life had taken a more positive turn, Amber simply could not go on. Bullying wears away at the soul, particularly during the teenage years, when fitting in is paramount. Her parents are speaking out to, yet again, bring attention to the destruction caused by bullying.
It cannot be assumed that your child’s self-esteem is intact when they have been victimized by years of bullying. Counseling support should be a requisite part of their lives to try to monitor for suicidal thoughts and inclinations.
The East Henderson High School in North Carolina held a candlelight vigil for Amber after her death, but has remained silent about the claims of bullying that she had experienced since the sixth grade. Her parents are keeping the focus on
Amber’s story; she was tortured by “mean…stuff [said] to her face, [and] behind her back.” Cruel messages on Facebook permeated her life after school hours. Children can be helped with individual counseling, but unless schools incorporate sensitivity programs against bullying, teen suicides will continue to permeate our culture.
Bullying is truly an epidemic that needs to finally come to an end. Hopefully this story will be a wake up call for many..

Have You Ever Noticed A Fence Painted Purple? It Means THIS..
image via – youtube.com
Seeing purple paint on fences in rural Texas is extremely common, but many people don’t know what it means. The practice began in 1989, as a subtle way of letting strangers know that they were entering a private area. Most people have no clue what this purple fence means but awareness could easily stop an unnecessary tragedy from happening.
You might think that “No Trespassing” signs would be a more direct way of reminding people of land boundaries, however those signs would often disappear or be damaged. Texas passed a law in 1997, that would particularly alert hunters and fisherman not to go further, saying that purple paint meant “No Trespassing”.
In the video you are about to watch below, you will hear more about how this came about, and why the color purple was used. The Purple Paint Law has also gone into effect in Illinois, and violation because you are ignorant of what it means is no excuse.

If You Use This Popular Lip Balm Stop Right NOW! The Reason Is Scary!
image via – youtube.com
EOS lip balm stands out against the competition because of the distinct round packaging it comes in. The colorful pods of lip moisturizer have only been on the market for years, having launched back in 2009, and yet they seem to be available practically everywhere you go.
The products meteoric rise to must have status was led by clever marketing campaigns and a host of top celebrity endorsements. Everyone from Demi Lovato to Kim Kardashian has been see applying the egg shaped lip smack and the brand is kicking regular old Chapstick to the curb.
EOS stands for “Evolution Of Smooth” which conveys thoughts of full, plump, wrinkle-free lips, but some users of the product have experienced anything but that. Instead, they claim that use of the lip balm caused their skin to break out in painful, blistering rashes.
The problem is wide-spread and more common than what anyone originally thought it to be, and now a class action lawsuit has been filed against the company. According to Rachel Cronin, one of the plaintiffs in the suit, shortly after applying EOS balm to her lips they became dry and coarse.
In an attempt to smooth her lips back to normal she applied even more of the balm but her symptoms just got worse. That’s when she took a picture of her painfully swollen, red, bumpy mouth and shared it on Facebook. Her post, as noted in the lawsuit, “set off a frenzy of responses from other individuals who shared the identical experience with EOS.”
While it’s unclear what exactly caused Ms. Cronin to have such a severe reaction, people are pointing out that the product contains a few ingredients that many people may be allergic to. One is the fruit oils and extracts that are used to flavor the balms, and another is the beeswax base.
These ingredients are used by the company to keep the product as organic and all natural as possible. It’s inevitable that a few individuals might experience an allergic reaction to it and if that occurs you should immediately wash it off thoroughly with a mild soap.
Pat dry the area and then apply 1% hydrocortisone to help alleviate and lessen the reaction symptoms. If it gets worse or is severe, go see a doctor right away, but hopefully that won’t happen to anyone reading this! Also, as a general word of caution, before you try EOS lip balms, or any new beauty product, always be safe and check the list of ingredients.

This Teen Girl Died From A Fatal Heart Attack While On Vacation After She Drank THIS Popular Drink!
image via – youtube.com
It’s a beverage that can be found in just about every gas station, grocery market, and convenience store in America and abroad. Many people love it and some drink it to excess or even mix it in with alcohol. There is no denying that energy drinks, like the market leader Red Bull, are incredibly popular.
The amounts being consumed have sky rocketed in recent years and now the sugary, caffeine laden drink is being blamed for the sudden death of a healthy 16 year old girl. Lanna Hamman, a 16 year old girl from Arizona, was on vacation in Mexico when she went to the beach with her friends.
According to those with her at the time, she had been drinking Red Bull all day and no water when she suddenly suffered a heart attack. Tragically, she ended up dying and now many are saying that the energy drinks she drank before her death are what likely caused it.
Specifically, the excessive caffeine she consumed, in conjunction with dehydration, led to her fatal heart attack. Lana’s mother, Kris Hamman, said that her daughter regularly drank Red Bull and she believes it’s likely that the beverage contributed directly to her death.
Cardiologist Jack Wolfson agrees with her and places the blame on the drink’s high sugar and caffeine content. He told the local Arizona news station KSAZ Fox 10 that “There is medical evidence that these things do harm, they can cause changes in the heart rhythm, and impact blood pressure.”
In recent years, energy drink related hospital and ER visits have sharply increased to levels not seen before 10 years ago. People come in complaining that they feel sick and unwell, and many turn out to be dehydrated and experiencing irregular heartbeats. The majority of them are also teenagers and young adults.
Energy drinks are notorious for being bad for our health and bodies, yet many people continue to consume them. While what happened in Lanna’s case is an extreme example of what can happen when you drink Red Bull excessively and forgo water, it’s also eye opening.
She was a completely healthy, normal, athletic teenager and what happened to her can happen to anyone.
