This Is Not a Normal Insect and They Are Showing Up Everywhere. If You Spot One Don’t Touch It
The freakish looking bug you see in this video, that looks like a mutant spider, is not something you ever want to come across inside your home. The fuzzy, spiky-haired creature isn’t a member of the arachnid family at all, it’s actually a caterpillar and it lives in North America. Sightings of the strange insect have become increasingly common and left many people understandably shaken and wondering- what is that bizarre thing?!
The strange bug is commonly known as a hag moth and it’s scientific name is Phobetron pithecium. However, when it’s in the larva stage, like the one in the accompanying clip, it’s called the monkey slug caterpillar. This ugly little guy will soon spin himself into a cocoon and go through metamorphosis, changing into an adult hag moth that’s just as hairy and hideous as he ever was before!
The monkey slug caterpillar’s habitat ranges from Quebec, Canada all the way down to southern Florida and as far west as Nebraska. They’re easy to spot because of the oddly distinct features they sport on their bodies, which include those curly, hairy, arm-like parts you can clearly see sticking out in the video. They move quite slow and awkwardly thanks to their suction cup legs, which is what earned them the slug part of their name.
Many people who come across these bizarre bugs assume they are poisonous and thus go out of their way to avoid them. While they aren’t exactly lethal or highly toxic, the hairs covering their bodies are capable of stinging and some people experience a painful reaction when their skin comes into contact with these hairs. However, it varies from person to person and those with more sensitive skin types are at an increased risk of having such a reaction.
All in all, it’s best to not touch or pick up any monkey slug caterpillars you see crawling around, not that you’d ever want to in the first place!

The Reason Why You Shouldn’t Cover The Toilet Seat With Toilet Paper In A Public Bathroom
Should I hover or cover? That’s the question that runs through most peoples minds when they enter a public restroom stall. After all, the thought of sitting on a public toilet is anything but pleasant and the entire room is crawling with a bunch of complete strangers bacteria and germs. While no one ever really wants to use a public bathroom, sometimes it’s inevitable. When you gotta go, you gotta go!
If you’re among the millions of people who tear off a bunch of toilet paper and lays the sheets down on the seat to form a protective layer, you’re doing it wrong! In fact, you’re better off not putting anything down on the seat at all, whether it be toilet paper or one of those handy paper seat covers found in many bathroom stalls. It may sound contrary to popular belief, but you’re actually exposing your body to even more germs and bacteria when you line the seat with paper.
As humble as they appear to be, toilet seats have been specially designed to repel against bacteria. The way they are shaped and the overall smoothness of the seats make it difficult for germs to latch onto them. In comparison, toilet paper has a rougher texture and is designed to absorb stuff, making it the perfect place for bacteria to stick to. Plus, every time the toilet gets flushed a ton of nasty germs get spread around and fly through the air. Lots of those end up on the toilet paper roll, so when you place it on the seat you’re sitting down right on top of them!
In addition, our skin provides enough protection to keep our bodies safe from whatever is lurking in and around the toilet. It’s our own natural barrier that protects us from micro-organisms and besides that, much of the bacteria found on seats is already present on our bodies. Furthermore, studies have found that the average public toilet seat is cleaner than most people’s kitchen sinks, cutting boards, and dish sponges! If that doesn’t put it all into perspective, nothing else will.
Finally, the number one best thing you can do to avoid germs and bacteria is to wash your hands thoroughly after using the loo. That means running them under hot or warm water, lathering up with soap, and rubbing them together for at least 20 seconds. Focus on the areas in-between fingers and under nails, then rinse off the soap and dry them off. Avoid electric hand dryers if it’s possible, all they do is blow germs on your freshly cleaned hands, and opt for paper towels instead if they’re available. Also, try not to touch the door or handle when exiting. If it’s a push door use your hip, foot, or some other covered body part to open it.
In the end, hovering is the best way to go about using a public toilet. It’s much cleaner and more effective than using a toilet paper barrier and you get a mini-workout in the process. You also get to keep your peace of mind, so squatting is the way to go!

Teen Was Drinking 3 Glasses Of Green Tea a Day. Her Sickness Left Doctors Stunned
A teenager from England had been feeling horrible, she was nauseous and dizzy, her body ached painfully all over. After visiting her doctor he attributed her symptoms to a urinary tract infection and sent her home with antibiotics to help treat it. After taking two doses, the 16 year-old girl only became sicker and more ill, so she rushed to the emergency room at a local hospital. The doctors who treated her noticed that her skin and the whites of her eyes had turned yellow, a clear indication that she was suffering from jaundice.
At this point her condition was considered serious and in need of critical attention. The acute medical care team believed she had hepatitis, as her liver was swollen and inflamed.
Her diagnosis naturally made them question what caused a sixteen year old girl to suddenly develop hepatitis, so they investigated the circumstances that led to her seeking medical attention. What she told them turned out to be shocking, and disconcertingly widespread.
She said that she had not recently traveled abroad, nor had she taken any illegal or prescription drugs, and hadn’t consumed any alcohol. She’d also never had a blood transfusion, nothing she’d done or experienced was out of the ordinary or could have been the cause of her hepatitis. After more questions, doctors found out that she had ordered two boxes of green tea from China and for the past several months had been drinking three cups of it a day. She’d bought it for weight loss purposes and believed it could help control her appetite. However, she couldn’t read or understand the directions because they were written in Chinese and thus had no idea what exactly was in the tea she was drinking. The doctors obtained a sample of it and had it tested, when they saw the results they immediately ordered her to stop drinking it.
The tests showed the tea contained Camellia sinesis, a type of evergreen shrub whose leaves and leaf buds are used to make different teas, including green tea. That ingredient was the cause of the girl’s illness and it has previously been linked to liver damage and hepatitis in women who use green tea supplements and extracts.
In some cases patients suffered severe liver damage and were left needing transplants, and it has even caused death. In addition, there was a high possibility that other chemicals had been added to the tea to make it produce a stronger weight loss effect.
The doctors who wrote about her case in the journal BMJ Case Reports also stated that “There is potential for pesticide-induced hepatitis to exist, especially from less regulated products ordered from developing countries over the internet.” Because consumers cannot be positive about the quality and integrity of any tea they order online from abroad, they are urged to be wary and extra cautious about doing so, and should avoid it all-together. In the end, the girl quickly recovered and two months after stopping the green tea drink her liver function was back to normal. Doctors have been using her case to highlight the fact that excessive consumption of green tea can lead to liver disease and that many varieties of it, which often promise weight loss, may also contain harmful substances, including pesticides.
So if you drink green tea make sure it’s a brand known to you and limit your intake to a safe amount, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Teen Runs Downstairs To Her Mom In Excruciating Pain. The Reason Is Scary
What you are about to hear, should serve as a warning for all users of cell phones. Jackie Fedro, a mom from suburban Chicago, has shared this extremely scary story that happened to her 13-year-old daughter, Gabbie. Her dream came true when her parents got her a cell phone for Christmas.
She received the T-Mobile LG d500. It should be noted that cell phones vary in terms of potential dangers, however as you will see in the video below, what happened to Gabbie was not an atypical occurrence specific to the LG. She was using her phone in her room one day, when Jackie heard a bloodcurdling scream. Gabbie came running down the stairs grabbing her neck in agony.
What Jackie saw was a severe burn around her neck. Gabbie had been using her cell phone while it was plugged into a wall charger; the wire touched her necklace, transmitting an electrical current which resulted in second degree burns. They have posted this on Facebook to warn others about this potential danger when using a cell phone and wearing metal.
There have been multiple stories about electrical hazards and cell phones. Gabbie was actually lucky, as you will see after watching the footage below, where you will hear about a young Chinese woman who was electrocuted while using a charging iPhone 5. There are quite a few other stories about such electrocutions, that people should be made aware of.

This Isn’t a Regular Insect. If You See One Do Not Go Near It. The Reason is Scary
Kissing bugs sound like nice, innocent insects, but they are the exact opposite of that description. The little pests are actually blood sucking parasites who feed on animals and people. They earned the “kissing” name because they tend to operate by biting their sleeping victims around the eye and mouth areas.
In some cases the nasty bugs are even deadly because they are responsible for spreading Chagas disease to both humans and animals. Chagas was once a rare parasitic infection but not anymore. A growing number of people in South America and the US are contracting it. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that approximately 8 million people in Mexico, Central, and South America have Chagas, while in the US over 300,000 people are currently infected. Many of those who have it are unaware they’ve been infected and it can be life threatening if left untreated. Furthermore, Kissing bugs also transmit Chagas to pets and animals. Dogs are among the most susceptible to the disease and in the state of Texas, where kissing bugs are increasingly common, about 400 of them have died as a result of Chagas already.
The kissing bugs responsible for all of this death and disease are called by their scientific name “Triatomine Bugs.” They bite their unsuspecting victims around the eyes and mouth and when their feces comes into contact with either the bite area, or a mucous membrane like an eye, they pass the parasite known as Trypanosoma Cruzi to the host. The parasite is spread in this gross manner because it lives in the bug’s feces and that happens to be the main way in which it enters a person or animal’s body. As if that wasn’t already nasty enough, dogs can contract Chagas in other ways, such as by eating the bugs or infected animal feces.
Once a person or animal has been infected they usually remain unaware that they have the disease until it’s progressed to a later, and more serious, stage. Furthermore, in some cases it may be asymptomatic, meaning there are no symptoms whatsoever until one appears suddenly out of nowhere. This later point is why it’s being called the “silent killer” and people are being urged to familiarize themselves the signs and symptoms of Chagas disease, which include the following; confusion, weakness, diarrhea, loss of appetite, depression, lethargy, swollen abdomen, a lack of coordination, seizures or jerky movements, and increased heart rate.
There are currently tests available that can detect Chagas if you ever want to get tested. If you suspect you may have it then definitely get tested right away because when the disease is found early enough it can usually be successfully treated and the harmful side-effects lessened. Please pass this information on so that others are aware of the dangers that kissing bugs pose, and monitor pets health for any signs of chagas disease.

Child Tells Mommy and Daddy Somebody Is Speaking To Him At The Night. When Mom Finds Out The Scary Truth.
It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. A complete stranger gains access to their baby’s bedroom and takes pictures of the young child without their knowledge, then posts them online for anyone to see. For one couple this wasn’t a bad dream, it was reality. Now they’re telling their story to bring attention to how this all happened, so people are aware and that hopefully it never happens again.
About a year ago the couple, Sara and Jay, were living in Washington with their 3-year-old son. The disturbing incident came to light one day when the child told them that he was scared to sleep alone at night and that someone was talking to him on the phone.
At first they were unsure what he actually meant, but soon afterwards they heard voices coming through the baby monitor that was located in his bedroom. Jay heard a man’s voice saying something along the lines of “wake up little boy, daddy’s looking for you” and after that, when Sara entered the child’s room, the man could be heard talking about how someone was coming. That’s when the realization set in that some sicko had hacked into their baby monitor and was using it to speak to their son and spy on them.
The hackers had also gained control of the night vision camera lens and were able to move it around and see everything in the room. Freaked out by the whole thing, the couple contacted the baby monitor maker, Foscam, and notified the company of the strange situation.
Foscam told the worried parents that it was possible a hacker could gain access to the system. Once in, the hacker could easily control the camera from their own computer or even with just a smart phone app. As if all of this wasn’t frustrating and scary enough, the company also said that there was no way to track down and figure out who the hacker was or where he lived.
Needless to say, the parents threw the compromised baby monitor in the trash and are now using their story to warn others about the potential for incidents like this. Crimes involving internet connected devices are on the rise as more and more people own and use them regularly. Baby monitors may be at particular risk as many of them now use WiFi and come with smartphone apps and features.
Besides invasion of privacy, experts warn this can lead to identity theft and other crimes. It’s highly recommend that people regularly change their WiFi and any camera network passwords they may have frequently. It’s the least you can do to protect your family and yourself from criminals.
