This Year You Need To Keep Your Children Away From This Bug. All Parents Should Watch THIS

The furry looking caterpillar you see in this video, that looks like a walking mini-toupee, is highly toxic. The unassuming insect is known as a puss caterpillar and over time it changes dramatically as it transforms into an adult. After it finishes developing it turns into a furry winged insect known as a southern flannel moth, and sometimes it’s called a puss moth.

The bugs only pose a threat when they are in their caterpillar form and contact with them should be avoided at all costs. However, it’s their soft and fuzzy appearance that’s highly deceiving and the hair-like spikes draw kids to them and encourages children to reach out and pick them up.

The caterpillars can also come into contact with skin when they fall out of trees or land on people from above. They favor citrus, sycamore, oak, and elm trees, as well as plants like roses and ivy. The puss caterpillars are found in southern parts of the United States and throughout Mexico and Central America. Recently they have been in the news because of increased reports of them injuring kids and causing painful reactions.

What makes them so fearsome and nasty is their fuzzy exteriors. The furs are actually venomous spines which cause excruciating pain when they come into contact with people’s skin. Reactions to the stings can be severe, with radiating pain, burning, nausea, vomiting, swelling, rashes, blisters, and numbness in the affected area.

Sometimes people develop chest pains or have difficulty breathing, and hives or welts may turn up on the sting site. The sting feels worse than any comparable type, beating bees, scorpions, jellyfish, and wasps. Some people have even started to convulse and reported that their pain went deep, causing even their bones hurt.

To lessen your chances of running into one of these bugs and to avoid any pain, stay vigilant and be mindful of the tiny creatures. Make sure that young children know the dangers of them and if you or someone you know does get stung, seek immediate medical attention.

You can also lessen pain by covering the area with tape and then ripping it off. That helps to remove any embedded spines and decreases the pain. Be sure to have fun this summer and be safe!

This Man Approaches A Kid On The Playground With a Puppy. What Happens Next Is Scary.

This is an alert to all parents!  This video is a must-see for parents of all young children.  Most parents these days drill it into their children not to talk to strangers; never go with a stranger who offers you candy, playing with a puppy etc.  We all believe that because we tell our kids this over and over again, that they digest this information and will never go with a stranger that entices them.

Well think again!  JoeySalads, a Youtuber, decided to do a social experiment on a local playground.  He has an adorable puppy with him that any child would be enchanted with.  As the children are busy playing on the playground equipment, Joey approaches different moms who are sitting on the park benches.  He asks if they think their child will go with him, a stranger, if he shows them his cute pup and tells them he has others to show them.

All the mothers believe that their kids will check with them before going with this stranger.  After they give him permission to approach their child to test out whether they have learned the stranger lesson, he goes to each child and offers to show them his other pups.

Every child fails the test!  Without a second thought they take Joey’s hand and walk off with him, without a glance in their mother’s direction!  Towards the end of the video we see one mom holding her son and explaining to him that Joey is a stranger.  If he had been a bad stranger “you would never have seen mommy again.”  You can see how this “experience” really impacts the little boy as he clings onto his mom.

Perhaps the lesson of this video is that children learn more from experience than from mere words that go in one ear and out the other.  I bet that little boy will remember what happened and what his mom said about his never seeing her again, because of having actually gone off with this “staged” stranger.

The results of this social experiment are truly terrifying.  In order to protect our children from possible abduction, more needs to be done than simply telling them not to talk to strangers. Please comment and let us know if you have some ideas about what would be most effective for your kids.

If You Use Flushable Baby Wipes Read This Story. The Result Is Nasty!

Wet wipes, or per-moistened personal hygiene cloths, have become a widely used product in the last ten years. Sales in 2013 alone reached 20 billion wipes sold and are predicted to grow by approximately 6% every year for the next five years. Around half of all wipes sold are marketed under the “flushable” label and deemed safe for septic systems by their makers. Across America sewer lines and pumps are backing up and becoming clogged with these “flushable” wipes because in reality they are NOT safe to flush. Those labels are marketing hyperbole used to sell more wipes to more people and we are only beginning to see the negative effects it is having on sewer systems.

Toilette paper is made from tree pulp and is thus organic matter. Sewage treatment centers use a digestion system that helps with the breakdown of organic materials; basically poop, pee and toilette paper. That system, in combination with processes that absorb most toilette paper naturally along the way, had for a long time been enough to treat sewage waste. Until recently, when there came a huge uptick in the amount of wet wipes being flushed down the toilette.

The main problem with this is the fact that wipes are made from synthetic plastic based materials that cannot be broken down naturally in the same way that organic materials are. Since they cannot be broken down they must be removed and separated out, like a plastic bag would need to be if it were flushed down the loo. A lot of wipes are filtered out but many still end up clogging sewer pipes and waste intake machines.

That has translated into millions of dollars of repair work to septic systems which is passed along to the taxpayers and residents who use these pipes and wipes. Officials in many cities report numerous instances of sewage pumps routinely becoming clogged and needing to be replaced. The lesson of this story will hopefully be commonsense one day soon, do not flush wet wipes regardless of whether they are labeled flushable or not. Instead, please dispose of them in the trash, where they will end up anyways but without adding up to unnecessary, nasty, costly clogs.

Do You Or Anyone You Know Put Family Stickers On Their Vehicle? If You Do Take Them Off Immediately!

Many of us have become aware, that with the fun of sharing our lives on social media, come inherent dangers of exposing too much information.  Many people have made their Facebook pages private, but sharing photos and location “check-ins” on other forms of social media can leave us vulnerable to dangers from strangers with bad intentions.

There is a new trend of putting really cute decals on rear car windows, showing off our family members, their hobbies, our pets, and our kid’s achievements.

Seems harmless enough, but as people go online to customize their depiction of their family for their car, they are sometimes offered name decals, school names and various other details which they exhibit.  Getting carried away with your family pride in this way, offers information that predators are just waiting to get their hands on.

As you will hear in the video you are about to watch below, police have begun issuing warnings about these seemingly fun and innocent stickers.  Depending on the details displayed, you may be giving burglars or child predators (particularly when you have a sticker saying proud parent of..with the name of their school), information that has the potential to put your family at great risk.

While you may be wary of guarding your privacy on social media, you could be undoing it with bumper stickers and family decals.  You would be amazed at how much information can be put together that can make your family a target.

Such figures as showing a dad in the military, can signal a mom at home alone with kids.  Showing their kids in their favorite extracurricular activity can indicate when your home is likely to be empty, or where and when your child goes to practice.  For further information that will help you to be more aware of information you may be innocently giving away, watch the footage below.

This Teen Was Feeling Extreme Neck Pain. When The Doctors Diagnosed Her, Her Parents Were Horrified!

I don’t know about you, but I have become used to constantly looking down at my phone, iPad or computer, but not as much as my teenage and young adult children.  Sometimes I have to ask them the same question 3-4 times until they hear me.  You can see a table of adults and kids out to eat at a restaurant, where everyone is looking down at their phone!

You may think that what I am getting at here is the antisocial aspects of social media absorption. That, however, is a side issue.  Something far more dramatic and physically damaging is occurring to young people, like this 14-year-old girl in the video you are about to watch below.

It is called “Text-Neck”.   Doctors have found that excessive looking down at tech devices is causing pain in the neck, that usually doesn’t occur until middle or old age! Not only are really young people experiencing this pain, but when x-rayed their spines show “reverse curve spinal damage!”

This damage turned up on 14-year-old Sarah Aitchison’s x-ray. You will see her meeting with Dr. Chad Cotter who speaks about the alarming number of high school students he is seeing with generalized neck pain, migraines, tension across shoulders and even numbness and tingling down their arms.

Watch the footage below to hear further discussion of this syndrome, it’s treatment and what lack of treatment will result in.  Not only young people, but all of us need to be aware of what this posture can do in affecting premature aging of the spine.

Believe it or not there is actually an App that can be utilized to warn you when you have been in “Text-Neck” position for too long!

9 Signs and Symptoms That You Have a Gluten Allergy and Don’t Even Know It. I Had No Idea.

Gluten-free diets have been touted in the media for quite some time now, leading many to eliminate it from their diets, because they have come to believe it is less caloric and healthier.  The truth is that gluten-free is not less caloric, and eating a gluten- free diet is only healthier for those people who suffer from gluten sensitivity or intolerance.

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye and barley.  It is not only found in breads (making the bread rise), but is also found in grains that are inherent to many other foods such as: pasta, livestock feed, beer and cereals.  Because of it’s presence in many foods that are less obvious than bread, it becomes a more painstaking job to avoid it, if you truly are sensitive to gluten.

The following VIDEO that you are about to watch below is presented by Dr. Axe.  He does a great job of explaining gluten sensitivity, as well as discussing the SIGNS and SYMPTOMS that you may be suffering from this intolerance, and what to do about managing it.  If you are suffering from: AN IMPAIRED IMMUNE SYSTEM, EXCESSIVE  FATIGUE, CHRONIC HEADACHES/MIGRAINES, JOINT AND MUSCLE PAIN, A LOSS OF MENTAL CLARITY, WEIGHT GAIN THAT SEEMS UNRELATED TO INCREASED CALORIE INTAKE, DENTAL PROBLEMS OR SUDDEN SKIN DISORDERS SUCH AS ECZEMA OR RASHES, these may be a sign of gluten sensitivity or intolerance.

If any of these symptoms are combined with chronic digestive problems, gluten may be the culprit.  After watching the video below, if you feel you may have a sensitivity or intolerance, Dr. Axe offers suggestions on how to eliminate foods to see if your symptoms are alleviated.
